The day I was in a movie and 'kids' were talking and I got totally P'Od. I knew I was old that day.

Yesterday the realtor we are using asked me how old I was, and I said 25. FH looked at me in amazement, and said, 'um- you are 27' How embarassing, I could not believe I did that. I guess I am in denial that I ever kept aging after I turned 25.
This Saturday, we were at a party, and at 1230 I told FH we should leave b.c we had an early appt with the realtor. He was like, 'OK Grandma'. So I think I started to feel old at 1231am

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I know how you feel. I started feeling old around my 28th too! I'm going to be (having heart attack and shaking) 30!!!!!! I still can't believe it. But when my mind is not on my age, I think, I'm too young to be married or thinking of having kids soon! Then reality snaps in and I feel like I have to catch up! Enjoy your b-day. Go out and party! You are still young as long as you act and think it!

I guess age is a state of mind. Keep your mind sharp and active you will never feel old. I will always be a big kid at heart.

Happy b-day enjoy each and every day that you live to see that you are healthy and happy. IT is a blessing.

I don't really feel old yet, but I also hang out with people that are 5 years older than me, so I'm still the baby in the group!! I did start to feel older when I turned 25. I hope I never feel old!

The year I started teaching and said something about Yoda and my students had no idea what I was talking about because Star Wars had not been rereleased yet. Then I said something about Gloria Estefan -- again blank stares -- yup that did it for me!

Age is a state of mind to me. I am going on 31 - yikes and feel super young at times. People tell me I look like I'm 20!!

However, when I start to think about how long I want to wait to have kids, I immediately feel old. Especially when all my girlfriends are finished having their kids and I havenm't even thought of it yet!!

P.S. Happy Birthday

Re: What age did you start feeling old?

The first time I felt old was at a Detroit Lions football game, and I realized the players on the field were YOUNGER than me! I'd been going to games since I was about 8 years old, and suddenly the players were no longer 'adults' but just 'kids'!

But, being one of the older ones on this board, right now I'm feeling REALLY old as I look at the ages and realize that more than a few of you could be my daughters if I'd married and had kids right out of high school - thanks guys

LIW - now I'm feeling like I need the Geriatrics board to post on!!!

Karen that is so funny...geriatrics??? I guess that is where I belong too. I have a daughter older than some of the people who posted here and am a grandma too! Do I feel old? Sometimes lately since I have been sick..but usually nahhhh. I have no intention of ever feeling old. I am lucky that I have almost no wrinkles either so I don't look old. Most people think my granddaughter is my daughter!

Re: What age did you start feeling old?

happy birthday...

I started going grey at about 22...so that part really doesn't bother me...but feeling 'old' creeps up...

I remember after i graduated college...I was mad when I saw kids driving around and having fun...and i had to go to work...

then I stopped wanting to go to clubs...I would say at about 26...and the bar stool is a must...i will not go out unless I am guarenteed that there will be a seat for me...

like already mentioned...being a teacher makes your age more noticable...my students were born in 1987!!! W T F? You mean you don't remember when Bon Jovi first came out? I could go on...

just recently I had stopped running (for those of you who know me - I have always run a lot...mararthons, 10Ks, etc...)well after this snowy winter I got back out and could barely run 2 miles without my lungs hurting...I came inside and DH said to me...'you know your not 22 anymore' so there are definite physical symptoms that are becoming more and more noticable...

although I will be back to my 10 mile days in no time!!!

so while you do age...and you might feel old...there are things you can do to counteract it...
