Are you wearing it and if you do any sports leaving it in the hotel? Were doing a week in Aruba and then a cruise and I'm nervous to wear it, jeweler said he can make a fake one of my exact ring, but its a bit pricey, maybe but a fake of something else?? What are you ladies doing

Infact, were going to florida this week and he wakes up now that he wants to go to Miami ink but to get the rest of his arm done. I said we can always try to just walk in and try but ugh not sure how lucky we'll get but you never know. Im gonna try to call tomorrow before we leave
To answer the thread. I might end up taking it with me. When Fh proposed we were on a cruise and i had to deal with it then and it worked out. There was no way i was leaving it in the room bc i know ppl who had stuff stolen out of the safes in their rooms and i couldn't risk that. I don't swim so that helps me lol but we did go snorkeling, yes i cant swim but i snorkel, done it a couple of times lol. It worked out bc we had our bookbags with us and i had a small purse in there and put the ring in there and gave it to his aunt who stayed on the boat to hold onto the bookbag and i know how she is and knew she wouldn't let the bag out of her site. But on a HM we'll be alone. Not sure how many water sports ill do lol. I have to think about this one

i agree denise i dont trust the safe on a cruise or hotel i also know people that had things missing and it is VERY easy to reset the safe
they do it every week for new guests!

I'm getting a plain, 3mm white gold band for $80. 1. I don't want to lose my e-ring and my diamond band 2. I don't want to draw attention to myself with a fake set, and risk being targeted.
It wouldn't make for a good honeymoon or vacation to get mugged for fake jewelry. It's bad enough most locals view Americans as walking money bags, the last thing I want is for them to think I'm also a jewelry store.
But of course, it depends where you go... we're heading to South Africa.

yeah, i know ppl who went on vacation it was a bunch of them in one room...They lost alot of jewelry, expensive watches, plus they had alot of money in there. Not the only time ive heard of this happening, ever since then I never leave anything in the safes, many times its an inside job anyways.
I think im gonna end up taking my ring with me. We're not going to the caribbean where we'll be in the water all the time or anything like that

I am bringing them with me. If we are doing any water sports they will stay in the room sfae... ALTHOUGH Int he Bahamas last Sept. I rode the jet skii with Fha nd had it on (knocking on wood it didn't go anywhere!)

I leaving mine at home. Fh's family all told me not to bring any good jewlery to Brazil with me. We are staying in a pretty safe area, but its still better not to bring it. Ill buy like a fake one at Claires or somehwere cheesey like that. better safe than sorry!

i left my engagement ring and eternity band in the safe deposit box, and took my plain white gold band with me. i missed them, but i feel like it was the safest decision.

We're wearing our matching (plain platinum) bands on our HM. I'm leaving my diamond band and my e-ring home. I'm not afraid to travel with it (it's insured), but we are going to Italy. There are many thieves there as it is, and even if they couldn't get it off my finger, I think we'd be a target if I walked around with a big ring on my finger. (I've been told by people who live there that they don't have a diamond e-ring tradition there, really, so my ring will stand out)
I'll miss it, but I'd rather not worry. Besides, I love our rings!! And - it'll make wearing my diamond band and e-ring again when I get home that much more special.

I have insurance as well, but I think there's more lost if it was stolen then just the ring, I mean its the ring that we actually got married with and they are blessed.. I guess Im just cheesy about it, but its sentimental to me, I'd be very upset
