Can you be more specific? ie: how many people you are looking to have, your maximum price per person, location preferences (outdoor, indoor, beach, country club, catering hall)?

There are tons of reasonably priced places...just hard to narrow down!

Define 'too far out.'

Are you looking for Nassau or Suffolk or does it not matter?

When (what month, day and time) and for how many people about?

Try the Huntingtown Townhouse - they gave us the cheapest price out of everyone.

Crest Hollow Country Club
The Manor East
Jericho Terrace
Fox Hollow
Westbury Manor
Chateau Briand

I HATE to say any of the above are affordable... it's really all about your budget and what you want. I can say that if you chose a Friday or a Sunday over a Saturday night, it will be more 'affordable,' if you went with a daytime wedding it's more 'affordable' and if you chose buffet rather than sit down it's more 'affordable'. It all has to do with what you want!

I'm getting married at Fox Hollow on a Sunday night in October. We are paying about $115 a head WITH tax and gratuity... I dont' know if that's what you would consider 'affordable' GEE, I hate that word....

I am having mine at Stuart Thomas Manor in Farmingdale. The food is excellent and they offer a really good and affordable package. They are flexible too. The inside is gorgeous, the outside is OK but who cares we'll be inside the whole night. The people have also been extremely nice. Hope this helps a little. Welcome to the boards.

Re: What are some of the affordable reception places that aren't too far out on the Island?

Thank you so much for all of your help. It seemed as if every place was close to $130 pp for a Saturday night in November. I loved the Milleridge but it is too expensive for me. Since most of my guests are from NYC, I didn't want them to have to drive too far out 1.5 hrs the max Thanks once again!

I highly recommend Leonard's of Great Neck (my catering hall). Not as afordable as some but not as expensive either. Butterfly gave a pretty good run down. I recomemnd it b/c it is closer to NYC than most mentioned. Good luck.
