What are some routines that you CANT live without ?

Like some things you do without even thinking, or things you MUST DO every day (or you'll be twitching, LOL)

*I MUST make my bed, even if i'm in a rush in the morning, I will make the bed. (DH is opposite, so if I ever sleep over my moms house, I come home to a sloppy UNMADE BED ! UGHH !!)

*I MUST wash my face and brush my teeth before bed. Even if I fall asleep watching tv, i will get up....

*As soon as I start my car, my next instinct is to crack the windows open (i'm a FRESH AIR kinda person) - again DH is opposite on this one too ! , so when he's driving I have to ask him 10 times to open a window in the back of the car so we have a draft going !)

I have put on make-up every single day since I was 15 years old!!! every single day of my life!!! Never missed one!!! Concealer, Eye Pencil, Foundation, Blush, light lipstick.... Crazy... I feel soooo naked without it!!!

I have to get ready for work in a certain order or I will actually forget to do something.

I have to check my email everyday.

Everynight right before I go to bed, I have to talk to FI on the phone. It has been going on practically since we first started dating.

Anna, I've said this before, but I think I'm your other twin that was separated at birth!!! LOL :) THOSE ARE ALL MY 'MUST DOS'!!!!!!! Me and DH fight constantly over the fresh air thing, whether in the car or in the house!! I'm constantly dying of heat stroke and he 'feels a chill' -- OMG, spare me, please!!!!!

Some of my other neurotic routines:

I CANNOT go to sleep or leave the house with dishes in the sink!!

I have to fix the pillows on the couch before I leave the house.

I have to check and re-check the stove and locks 60,000 times before I leave the house (can you say OCD).

I have to 'dry' the sink -- I'm totally wacked, but I can't stand the water spots on my stainless steel sink when they dry. DH thinks I'm out of my mind, but what else is new!!!

I have to wash my face, take my contacts out, my makeup off, brush my teeth before I go to bed -- no matter if I'm in a coma on the couch, I still have to do it.

And I CANNOT leave the house without the bed made -- I can't even sleep in an unmade bed! Even if I'm sick in bed, I will get up and make the bed and then get back in. I'm one sick puppy!!


I also have to clean the bathroom before I leave!

Geez, what a wacky nut I am -- I do all this every single day of my life! Oh God, I either need to take a valium or be put away!!! LOL

Edited to say, the other daily routine is TO COME ON HERE EVERYDAY TO GET MY FIX!!!!!

I MUST tell FH 'Be Careful, I love you, see you later' EVERYDay 20 times a day or I go crazy (yes I'm demented LOL)

I MUST pray before I pull off in my car

I MUST clean my ears every morning

I MUST bring water into the car with me, and also have it at my bedside at night - I'm always so thirsty

I MUST pat my car and say 'good girl' whenever I get to work safely

- Smoke a cigarette at the same points everyday, going to the train and coming home.

- Check my email - work, aol and liweddings

- Take my jewerly off as soon as I get home from work (excluding e-ring of course!)

Liz, you reminded me! I tell FH to be CAREFUL all the time too! And I also have a bottle of water with me NO MATTER what!

i check it every time i leave the house - maybe a bad past life experience???

feed the pets...

i always make sure to kiss my husband and tell him i love him no matter how sleepy or in a rush i am...morbid i know but i would never want to regret not doing that...

check to make sure all lights and appliances are off...

take the bc pill - not ready for the squealers yet!

check the weather on tv

Also, I forgot about the darn pills, the bc pills, my migraine preventative pill, and the multivitamins, the vitamin e and the hair vitamin i'm taking until the wedding.

Am I paranoid or what

I MUST have some kind of lipstick or chapstick on at all times!! i even put vaseline on my lips before i go to bed!!

I CAN NOT have the dishwasher running, the dryer or washingmachine on when i leave the house.. I DOUBLE check the straightening iron before i leave the house to make sure its unplugged, EVERYTIME!!

I am also very superstitious (sp?) I ALWAYS lift my legs (even if i am driving) over the railroad tracks, ALWAYS bless myself when passing a church. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS knock on wood when someone says something bad that could happen. NEVER put shoes on the table, NEVER open an umbrella in the house, I FREAK out if a black cat crosses my path!! And now i cant leave the house with out my wedding band on or i think something bad will happen !! I think i need to see a psychiatrist!!!

My entire mornings are routined. Get up, go to the bathroom, brush teeth, run the shower, put up the coffee, etc...I am the same way, I have to get ready for work in a certain order. I also have to do things in the shower in a certain order. I am such a dork.

Make up i usually just put on light lipstick and concealer for work but if i am going out i get all glammed up, eye shadow, lipstick, eye liner, mascara...

Hey this is turning into the pet peeves thread, LOL.

Suzanne, I MUST have chapstick too ! All winter/fall my girlfriend and I joke about how many chaptsticks we own, I have one in every handbag, one in every drawer (bathroom, kitchen and bedroom) JUST INCASE, and vaseline on my lips before bed, AHH AWESOME ! and lately (past 2 winters) my knuckles have been getting chapped in the wind ! sometimes even as bad as bleeding a little ! so vaseline works SO MUCH better than lotion overnite. But it stains the **** sheets!

what else ! I MUST 'wash' john anthony's face every morning. I take a damp cloth of his, and wash his face, he loves it !

During the week when I work, I MUST have my lunch packed and in the fridge, the bag packed, and my clothes sitting on the dresser before I go to bed at night. In the morning, I must have a small glass of orange juice before I leave to go to work. Sometimes, there is no orange juice and it just screws up my morning. I also have to feed the cat and give her a pill - sometimes that can take up to 15 precious minutes because I have to chase her around the apartment and catch her.

I can totally relate about the chapstick thing. I HATE the feel of dry lips and I always have to have chap stick nearby. Once when I was on vacation, I lost my tube of chapstick so I found some in a pharmacy, but it was $3.50!!! Needless to say, I had to buy it because to think about going without.... Anyway, a couple of months later, I was in a restaurant and this particular tube fell on the floor and rolled under another table. Because I spent so much money on this tube, I interrupted the diners at this table and had them pick up my pricey chapstick!

I also hate the feel of dry hands. Gotta have lotion on all the time!

Wow - I'm less neurotic that originally thought

I check my stove, coffee machine, any other electronic before going to bed or leaving for the day, as well as double lock the door and check 10 times! Days go by when I don't even use the stove, yet I still check it religiously.

I cannot go to sleep without brushing my teeth and washing my face - regardless of how tired I am - it will keep me up at night!

The MINUTE I get home from work I go right into my bedroom and change into my loungewear, then throw my hair into a ponytail. I cannot sit around the house in regular clothes LOL

DH has one too - he never leaves to head off to work before giving me a kiss in bed
