What are some unique ideas you're using for your wedding?

Hey Ladies,
I'm starting to think about the little extras that I can add to the wedding. What are some of your ideas?

FH and FFIL love cigars. We're having a cigar bar. I'm adding some personalized matches (just ordered) and mints. We're doing it really cheap though. RH giving us silver platters. FH buying good cigars in bulk. Setting up a table outside at the cocktail hour.

Thank you for this! I am still unsure if I will do this but I called the one vendor under cigars on this site and was quoted $1,000 for the cheapest package! That is not an option. It would just be nice to have a little extra like this especially something that would make FH happy. Keep the ideas coming girls!

Fh wants the trumpet guys who great everyone from TWOTY! I want a jazz trio for the ch tho..so we'll see we have pleanty of time.

i havent even thought of any extras yet for my wedding. i originally wanted the photobooth but i cant see spending $2000 for that. then i was going to do the cigar roller for my dad, but then i know most of the guys will be outside and not inside.. so that sorta defeats the purpose. now im at a loss and trying to think of something that will stand out.

we're gonna have the cigar roller, steel drum band for CH, and percussionist for reception....

we were gonna have mr met but decided against it... it jus doesnt go with our theme and we have no kids that would really enjoy him

and i plan on doin some type of favor as a centerpiece

how do you get mr. met

We're going to get a living statue for the cocktail hour - we figure it'll fit into the day since it will be Halloween. We also want to do a candy bar and maybe signature Halloween inspired drinks.

haha did you see the video on youtube with mr met at a wedding? i lamost pisssed myself...

i too am yanks fan and fh is die hard mets fan... its 500 for an hour and he brings goodies with him to give out

i'm thinking of that also to do during cocktail hr......the guy is like $800 for the hour, i gotta see where our budget is at come this fall

Thanks! We're more into fun than formality! And I forgot one other thing - a while ago a bride on here had on her review that she had the Yankees announcer Bob Sheppard do the annoucement things for when the bp and bride and groom come in. We want to do that too!

we're not doing a theme for the wedding really but i want to incorporate things about us into the wedding, so this april we're goin to vegas, and we going to take a picture in front of the little white chapel for our STD cards, and then we're gonna take pics at all the hotels and use those for our table numbers, each table will be named after the hotel we're standing at.

Love this idea! and LOVE the Vegas!

I was just discussing a similar idea with my FH. Not Vegas, but as table numbers to use different pics of us...

Another idea that we are doing is instead of the typical video montage, we are going to have someone interview our friends and family and have breaks in the montage where the videographer will edit the best parts of the interviews so its like a documentary sort of

Nicole,
instead of doing a photo booth, why don't you set up a photo site for your guests. Put up a pretty back ground (find some cheap fabric and hang it from a rod or something) put a tripod with your camera and let guests take the pictures themselves. You can print them out for them after the party and send them in their thank you notes!!
