Re: What are the LIW Kiddies up to ???
It's SUCH a GREAT feeling, seeing all the EMOTION that is in all of your posts, how much joy and excitement all the mommies and daddies are getting from watching their precious bundles grow and learn every day !
Can I Add more ?????
*Weaning off Binky!!
*clap clap clap*
Im SOO proud of him.. In the past few weeks, I was thinking (as Ive been told by SO MANY) 'the older he gets, the harder it will be to remove the binky, and the more effect it will have on his teeth/overbite, etc.
Now Ive done this before: Taken it away for hours at random and noticed that he didnt particularly look for it or seem bothered at all... but then I'd go right back to putting it near him or clipping it on his clothes when we went out..
Well last week, we decided, 'lets see if he really wants it'. SO for about a week now, he's really been 90% binky-free with no problems!!!
I think it's been this easy because I did it this early on. If I waited a few months, he'd be able to ask for it somehow or throw a tantrum...
It's still been in the crib, there are about 2 or 3 in there
so I havent taken it away cold turkey. He wakes up with it once in a while, he find it in the crib and of course will take it if he sees it or has the option. Other than the crib ones, Ive watched for signs of fustration or gnawing or $ucking, where I would have given it back to him for comfort. But I really havent had to !! I must admit, I think he looks adorable with it in his mouth
(all babies do!
) So, so far, we are very excited, that it's working pretty well ! YAYYY, my big boy ! I was really dreading having a toddler talking through a binky (ugh, a pet peeve!) and I noticed that he's SOO much more vocal without it in his mouth
Flyin up the stairs !
He really hasnt been around stairs much, except if we've been at my family's homes where we've watched him to make sure he was safe. He's always pulled himself up if lets say I was sitting on the floor near the couch, he's step on my lap
to get that much closer to climbing onto the couch
Well today we were at my parents house, and he was crawling around and standing to cruise any chance he got. Without a moments thought (with my dad behind him) he took off and climbed a flight of about 15 steps in 15 seconds !!!
So he's passing these 'Stepping stones' much faster than we thought ! Yikes!
Thanks for listening !
