If you like Italian.....Carmine's is excellent. We go there for special occasions and love it
No offense but I would NEVER classify Carmines as romantic. It is a zoo, tourist trap that serves food family-style only which means for 2 people, it would be too much
Sorry for being harsh but not a romantic place in my opinion

i think penang in the city is pretty cute...but you have to reserve one of the private booths, they're separated from the rest of restaurant with a curtain...reasonably priced malaysian food and their fried ice cream is great!

NYC or around here?? I love Candella's in NYC
They are actually going out of business. We were supposed to have our wedding their and they cancelled on us in mid December. I believe tonight is supposed to be the last night they're open..
Candela is closing on 3/3/07 and renovating for 2 months, then they will re-open.
Phew!! I loved that place -- we just celebrated my birthday there 2 weeks ago!!
We love Pasta Pasta in Port Jefferson -- we went there on our 2nd date and usually go there for anniversaries and special occasions
