What are you and FH obsessive /compulsive about, if anything?

I know Debi is about her stuff getting scratched or broken; I don't know if I would say that Fred is oc, but he seems definitely, to 'passionately' embrace all things re: healthy eating and exercise. I care less about keeping a tidy house than helping people, but I do get picky about cleanliness in restaurants, and have been known to check the silverware and coffee cups!! Mary MOB

FH is obsessed with his car. He has a mustang and he must polish and clean it at least 2 times a week - he even washes in the winter with snow on the ground

he only brings it to the BRUSHLESS (completely brushless) carwash

no one is allowed to eat in it

god forbid i carry in a leaf stuck to my shoe haha

if he even sees kids on his block playing wiffle ball he will pull the car in the driveway

he parks it i million feet away from any other car when we go anywhere - so we are always walking a great distance haha

if any damage is done to his car he HAS TO FIX it ASAP and wont drive it until its fixed

its very comical


me - i dont think im really obsessive about much but i do like things lined up (im a teacher so all my bulletin boards are centered and all papers lined up to match each other)

I can't think of anything that i'm obsessive over really. I have been learning more and more about FH's little OCD behaviors though! All of his cds and dvds have to be in the right case and turned the right way when placed in the case. you can't just put it in the case with the title upside down! and the toilet paper roll has to be put on so that the paper comes off from underneath, not over the top!

what am I getting myself into! LOL

I am obsessed with being on time ..i would rather be early than late it is really hard though when my FH is NEVER on time ...

well fh is OCD and about quite a few things. In his closet all the hangers have to face the same way, everything has to be in a certain order. Dress shirts together, jerseys, track jacets and then certain things need 2 hangers. Also he only keeps summer clothes out during the summer and same for winter. First day of spring he switches everything around, and same for winter bc he never wears light colors in the winter then even how things are in the drawer and very OCD about how things get folded. Even if you do it the same way as him he has a thing to unfold it and do it himself.

He also has a weird thing with the bed being made. He cant go to bed unless the bed is made and he prefers to lay on top of the covers. If after he gets cold which is rare then he'll put covers on but now he just uses my slanket to cover himself and lays on the covers.

Same with most things they have to be in a certain order.

Those are a few things but he is seriously OCD lol

I know I have said this before but I am just like your FH. My closet, draws if one thing is out of order it would keep me up at night. And forget it the closet door CAN NOT be left open. I even fold my underwear a certain way. Both FH and I are OCD but about different things so we balance each other out and we can totally relate to each other's quirks.

LOL well you probably have a very nice closet hahaha. Its funny bc i am the opposite hahaha. Yeah its true fh is ocd about things im not so he does those things and then i am ocd about other things and handle the other things so it does work out.

lol omg Denise your FH sounds EXACTLY like me...I'm crazy OCD with my clothes/shoes/accessories. In my closet my hangers all have to be facing the same way and they all have to match (type that is) lol and I also have everything in my closet and drawers color coordinated...I can always tell if someone has been going through my stuff lol

I liked to keep things in order, when I had a closet. Now I don't have any and it is a disaster. No storage here what-so-ever. FH is obsessive over baseball. He is on fantasy baseball sites all day and all night. I always tell him I will put things in baseball terms so he understands me I can't think of anything else

me too my clothes are arranged in 'order' in the closet.. all teh blues, greens, brown, burgandy... etc.

FH is obessive about baseball... 11 months out of the year.... i think he gives up around december!! he also needs to wear 'label/ name brand' clothing... so picky i can never buy him clothing...bc frankly i think target is fine... he doesnt!

i need things to be lined up.... papers on teh wall, in a folder, books in a bookshelf.... and i noticed that i like things in 3/s or 5's like if i take napkins out ot mc'donalds... i will ONLY take out 5 napkins at a time... if i need more i go back and i MUST grab 5 more! i dont kno...this is new.. lol

my kitchen has to be SPOTLESS before i go to bed

and i HATE when people try and tell me how to do something better or their way..it sounds stubborn but if im going to get the same result no matter what...why do i have to do it your way!!

and DH is a filthy slob and is OCD about nothing

except he hates when people just get a new roll of toilet papaer and not put it on the roll and just leave the old one there..thats all i can think of for him

i would say we both have certain things we are ocd on, ie i cant let him fold towels bc i like them a certain way and when he does do them i have to go back and refolds them, and this totally bugs him, also i have to have the toilet paper and paper towels on the roll a certain way, i think dh does it wrong so he cant watch me change it, since it bugs me


and lately i would say his ocd in the GRASS, we has been keeping up with the lawn and i will give him credit it looks great but he cuts like 3xs a week, and no one is a loud to walk on it, and he has like a schedule of when to water it and when to put certain chemicals on it, me and my neighbor make fun of him, like hes the crazy neighbor with the lawn that no one can step on

my clothing..i hate rips and stains..i go insane!
fh is ocd about electronics..he has to have the best of the best..its ridiculous

FH: all things sports. its absolutely looney at times

Me: about things being in there place. i'm a neat freak.

He is OCD about spots center, he MUST watch it daily , and he has to be on time, he gets like a lunatic if we are 30 seconds late
besides that he is a slob

I am OCD about wire hangers from the cleaner , i HATE them and get very upset If FH has them in his closet ( mommy dearest LOL) !

also my fridge and cabinets have to be organized a certain way

I think of volunteering to straigthen store sheves sometimes!! Especially when shoppers leave behind items 'that are not like the other' Mary MOB
