What are you doing to personalize your wedding? I've been to so many weddings lately that they are all mushing together in my mind! Is anyone doing something to make theirs unique?

we are doing a growing up montage video of me and the FH and we are going to play it before the best mans toast so we can watch it with everyone

Well I think our size and age difference alone will make us stand out!! Plus it'll be an outside wedding, I've never been to one before and I don't think many of our guests have either.
But we're also doing the slipper basket, cigars, cry packs, and wish bowl; which I think are pretty new ideas. I don't think many guests will have seen those before.
I'm thinking of also naming our tables after our fave restaurants to personalize it, we both love to eat and since it'll be a dinner it goes together. I'd love to incorporate softball too since we play on a co-ed team, just not sure how we want to do that yet.

we're having an Chinese-American wedding so it's going to be a 10course chinese dinner and I'll get to switch into 2 traditional dresses, in addition to the wedding gown.

I'm having a red carpet go up the stairs leading up into our hall - LOVE it!
Also, since our cocktail is during the Kentucky Derby, we just decided that we aren't going to fight it for those that really want to watch it. We are having a plasma screen TV brought in so the guests can view the Derby live. We will serve Mint Juleps as the signature drink (thanks JessicaM for the suggestion)!

We're giving ours a theme (Carribean) and having a reggae/calypso band for CH, mixing up the CP's (candleabras on !/2, flowers on the other), making unique place cards, not doing the bo-K toss, serving Carribean food at CH, naming drinks named after my BM's and putting the menu on every table and bar!

Im having a cinderella themed wedding, so our card holder has them on it, cry packs, scrolls, favors, invitations, std, favors, placecards, and anything else i can probably find from now until then with cinderella.
Also, my dad and i are very close, but my mom and my siser are my best friends along with my 3 yr old niece of course, so i am going to do the traditional father/daugher dance, and then dance to a differnt song with my mom and half way through invite my sister and my niece to join us.

I honestly have to say that I have been to many wedding, then and now, and I don't think any of the brides ever knew about LIW!!! All of the things I am doing, they never did or never even heard of. Everything that I am doing came from LIW!!!

a different kind of favor - not typical, along with a donation, which is becoming more popular but i have not seen it done
we do letters
trumpeteers at church
Hand ceremony/prayer at church
our garter/bouqet dance- not only single women catchers will dance with bride and groom
memory table- with pics of our engagement , our parents wedding and our grandparents wedding

having it at a unique place like the aquarium will hopefully make it stand out (especially since my brothers wedding is 3 months before ours). we will do some little touches to make it personal as we go. ~lacey
