OMG, it would be so funny to have these little old Jamaican ladies say they're sitting at Weathertop or Lolthlorien or Rivendell or The Shire! Or Bags End, which wouldn't sound good I guess. Or Mordor.

I agree 100%. The wedding reflects your relationship just by the mere fact that it's YOURS. The two of you are reflected in all the decisions you make about the decor, the music, etc. There doesn't need to be anything obvious to specifically represent your relationship. On that note, we both love disney, so we want to use the mickey and minnie lenox cake topper!

We had a military wedding so the men wore uniform and we did an arch of swords outside of St. Kilians RC Church. Dh's next oldest brother was his BM and his two younger brothers were are altar boys.
For the reception our bridal party walked into the Rocky Theme (Dh's family is from philly, they loved it) and we were introduced to Eye of the Tiger (also rocky)
Our first dance was the way you look tonight which we picked because we were both only 23 but wanted something timeless and classic.
The month that we got married both of our parents celebrated milestone anniversaries (25 and 30 years) so we played my parents wedding song Love me with all of your heart and had a spotlight dance of us, and both parents dancing which was special because their happy marriages helped us alot.
We cut our cake with Dh's Saber(another military tradition) and had a custom caketopper made of me in my dress and dh is his uniform with his medals and what not (it never made its way home from the reception though )

We did alot of things to make it special, many of which my DJ screwed up. But from colors, to favors, and music we did it our way.

Our reception was also a going away party for us since my husband had orders so we did and said everything we wanted and needed too and made it our own perfect day

we're bikers so a lot of things are going to be Harley Davidson and motorcyle themed (cake topper, cake cutting set, the keep garter).

Instead of toasting flutes we are using toasting goblets. Our place card holders are little goblets.

I don't know if we are going to do this, but I'd like to is have our friends ride their harley's and escort my limo to church. Our friends did that with 19 bikes and it was phenominal. It was so beautiful. I don't know if we'll do that.

We both LOVE rock so we definatly plan on having a lot of rock. FI loves 80's songs so we'll definatly have 80's music. I love some upbeat techno type music so their'll be some of that.

My matron and I danced to 'devil went down to Georgia' on the bar of Hogs and Heiffers so I definatly plan on having that song played (I will not be dancing on the bar)

Our wedding invitations are a bride and groom on a motorcycle. Even the saying resemeble's us

FI manages a bar/restaurant and we love our wine, so we are doing a wine theme. The tables are named after vineyards, we are giving wine as favors, the BM's are wearing wine dresses, and we have a 3 liter bottle for guests to sign as they enter! It works perfect for us!

Since we were engaged in Magic Kingdom(by the Cinderella fountain) we have a mickey and minnie lenox cake topper. We also have the bride and groom mickey and minnie beanbag characters for the table.

FH and I will be there, I think that represents us perfectly. I don't think a wedding needs anything more to be special...JMO

id love the friday the 13th table, since that was my bday for being born

were going to play alot of 80's music like we like,
and were going to both make up the table names with stuff meaningful to us...

were also doing wedding cd's made up of songs we both like...

We are HUGE picture people. and it is definetely created a reputation for us so we are going to try to incorporate pictures. We are going to do a running DVD slideshow outside the recpetion room somewhere of all pictures of us and all our family and friends, hopefully we have @ least one pic of us with every guest, i think we do! also, we LOVE the fall so we are doing that theme. we also both love Frank Sinatra so we are including that as well. FH is from Brooklyn so perhaps we will just have to make that knows also! lol we are definetely including our cultural backgrounds as well in terms of music so many ideas!
bottom line: It is YOUR day, do what you want to bring out your personalities.
