Hi Ladies,

Well I was asked by one of your own 2007 fellow brides 2 be to post what I had inscribed in my Dh wedding band.

Brief History:

My mother had sent DH and I an email years ago about an elderly couple who use to place little written reminders of SHMILY in the drawers, pockets, purses, briefcases, bathroom, cupboards, (basically any place in the home or in your significant others possession).

SHMILY stands for See How Much I Love You!!

The whole point of the email was that at any minute of the day, when the person least expects it, they would each find little notes from their loved one saying SHMILY and it just reminded the elderly couple that when they would each find notes, it was a constant reminder of how much you love one another. So when my mom sent me and DH the email when we were in our dating phase, we started doing that and I had placed post it notes or small postcards all over DH apartment, clothes, shoes, stamp and envelope box...anywhere I can think and he would do the same. Then when you would least expect it, you would find a SHMILY!! I have found them in my notebook when I was about to take notes at school, in my purse, on the bathroom mirror (i get up before Dh) so I would always see the note when i woke up. It is the best feeling when you find a note. It just warms your heart and puts a smile on your face.

SOOOOOOOOO the point of this entire post is that we kept up the tradition of that elderly couple who were married for years and found a simple but thoughtful and loving way to constantly remind each other how much they loved each other.

And we still continue the tradition of placing SHMILY all over the place.

SOOOOOO on my DH ring I had engraved none other than SHMILY with our wedding date 8-20-05.

HTH and gets your minds thinking. The inscription just be something personal and special to you and your FH. Something that the both of you will find sentimental to the heart.

In my band DH name is engraved along with our wedding date and in his band my name is engraved along with our wedding date.

I think this is what we might do as well

I'm not having anything engraved on my ring bc it was the ring my grandfather gave my grandmother on their 50th anniversary. I inherited it and swore I wouldn't wear it until my wedding day.

FH is having our names and the date engraved on his.

I think I'd like to put 'I promise you forever 6-30-07' because when he proposed he was like 'promise me forever......will you marry me?' So I'd like to put that in the ring I think

That is adorable!You should definitely put that.

Found this in one of the speciality knot bios....if you scroll partly down the page, there are a bunch of sayings you can use if your stuck as to what to put in. HTH anybody!
