There are TONS of extra's that we all learn about on here, what are some things that your not doing and why?
I'm not doing a guest book. At the wedidng last sat I saw it but i was so pre-occupied that I didn't even bother signing it.
I think i'm also gonna skip the cardbox. I might just rent the mailbox or birdcage or something. It's extra $ that i don't need to spend and what am I gonna do with it after???!

I'm skipping the cardbox and alot of the RH extras. We originally wanted to do the Vienesse Hour, but it didn't include the extra hour since we're a daytime wedding, so we decided not to do it. I may do the slipper basket (just because I think it is cute and unique), but not the bathroom baskets.

i'm probably gonna end up skipping the fancy placecards, table numbers, and menus (gonna just have the ones provided by RH)...I'm not a DIY kinda girl (too lazy lol) also not including tear packets or petal cones

Re: What are you not including at/for your wedding?
We're not gonna do a guestbook...I feel like people ignore it. Maybe if we do a photobooth we'll do the guestbook that goes along with that.
No cry packs...I just don't like assuming that people will be crying at my wedding lol.
No card box...I don't want to make one and we are trying to not spend too much on extras.
ETA:
No serving set or toasting flutes...there's other things on my registry I'd rather people buy and I don't want to spend money on things that the RH will provide for us.
We'll do slipper/flip-flop baskets if I am not too lazy to make them

Just an FYI, my mom rented the card box for my sister's wedding and it cost the same as a custom one with 4 boxes from FTMB..... so even renting them can be alot, although you are right, what do you do with them after?
I am thinking of skipping the guest book also, and even the cake set I mean if I get one at a shower great if not I am not buying one.
I am also not doing cry packs... I mean it's a wedding not a fuenral a tear is sweet sobbing where you would need a whole pack is a little over the top
I am not doing VH- I would love to but my wedding doesn't end untl 1:30am and I am afraid if everyone is eating again no one will be dancing so people might leave early.

Re: What are you not including at/for your wedding?
No guestbook No cry packs No petal cones (petals can't be thrown at my church) No uplighting No zap shots (using a band, not a dj) We'll see about table numbers and placecards
Menus are done by my hall, so I don't have to DIY
ETA: I'm doing the Perfect Cardbox, the picture frame one so that way I can at least use it after the fact.

Re: What are you not including at/for your wedding?
i bought my cardbox from a past LIW'er that was selling hers - and its in my colors. it just needs a little more glue and a might add some flowers to it. but other that that, it was totally affordable! and cheaper than renting.
as for what we wont have
personalized aisle runner. i love the idea, but for the $$ and the time its actually used, i doubt we will do it. 'I DO' letters. probably just stick with a cake topper and forgo the rest petal cones and cry packs...but may still do streamers (dependin on time) im sure there are more....
eta: no slipper basket. no dj hand outs.

Oh yea, we aren't having a personalized aisle runner or 'I DO' or 'WE DO' letters either.

Re: What are you not including at/for your wedding?
lighting, pinspotting & monogram- had to have it, it adds a certain ambience to the room. It changed colors all night and looked awesome.
guestbook - did not do this, I figured I wont do anything with it afterwards.
Viennese Hour - did not do this, IMO it cuts into the party time.
Cardbox - I wanted one but did not want to buy it for 100+ dollars. MY SIL made 2 of them for me (one for each day) and they looked awesome.

Jus an idea, I picked a card box that I csn use as a jewelry box after or I can also use it in any room of the house to put mail or loose things hanging around.
