What are you paying per person for your Rehearsal Dinner?
We're having ours at our hotel, and it will be $40 per person for a sit down dinner (appetizer, salad, entree, dessert, coffee... and I got them to include beer, wine and soda)... plus tax and gratuity. My FMIL is paying (so far JUST for the RD), so I'm nervous that it's too much. Then again, my parents paid for the Engagement Party AND the entire wedding, so what the heck am I worried about? I'm just curious if this price is the norm. ALSO... I hear it is etiquette to invite OOT guests to the rehearsal dinner (the rehearsal is the night before the wedding)... is that true? Thanks!

ours is in the city and it's about $65 per head, I think....we have A LOT of oot guests, and we are only inviting family and the bridal party to the rehearsal dinner. As my FMIL says, 'we aren't looking to have a wedding before the wedding' - we just want to keep it small.

Our Rd is 29.95 pp and we are doing an open bar but hosts pay the bill- I do not know what that is called... It is sit down with appetizer, salad, dinner, dessert, soda, coffee, tea The place is so nice and the food is delicious- San Marco in Hauppauge
we are inviting: Us Parents Bridal party and their SO Readers Grandparents Priest FG and parents RB and parents 2 uncles about 37 people
we can't do ALL OOT guests since 95% of our wedding is OOT guests

Re: What are you paying per person for your Rehearsal Dinner?
I completely understand. I went out of my way to find someplace 'reasonable' for the FIL's who paid for NOTHING towards this wedding. Why? Who knows. Am I having it where I want? No, but at least they're happy...
We're paying $28 + tax & gratuity for sit down dinner (bread, salad, choice of 8 entrees, desert, coffee, beer & wine). The only thing I don't think they realize is that they'll have to pick up the bar tab for anyone that doesn't drink beer or wine!
My mother feels that we should invite all OOT guests as a welcoming for all of their travelling however the FIL's don't see it that way!

so does that include family that is not in the bridal party? We have a few aunts, uncles and cousins coming in from out of town who aren't involved directly in the wedding. Do they come? Thanks for the info!

Were paying $ 40 per person too! At 1st thought the saame as you.. but then I realized that my Future Father in law was paying and FMIL isnt doing anything ( there Divorced) Both complained about the price and said only invite the necessary people.. Thank god I have no OTT. I still kept the list at 35. after all my parents are paying for the ENTIRE wedding- right down to favors and all... They paid for our engagement party... FMIL is cheap- at least FFIL gave a good amt. at the e-party.....

yes, it includes aunts and grandmothers, but not cousins coming from oot. sometimes you just have to do what makes sense financially, and if we started inviting some people, then we would have to invite others...and it would have gotten out of control, so we just did immediate family and bridal party....my parents wanted to invite some close friends that are flying in from CA, but like I said....once we invited them, we would have to invite a bunch of others and it would have been a domino effect.
HTH!!

Ours is $25 per head. We are not inviting OOT guests. Only Bridal Party, grandparents, parents, readers.

Re: What are you paying per person for your Rehearsal Dinner?
We rented out a restaurant, Posto, for $1000 including open kitchen, open bar. Their capacity is 50 so we're inviting around that many people. So around $20/pp give or take. Majority of my guests are OOT so not all OOT guests were invited, just family. All people involved in the ceremony were invited.

Ours is only about $22 ahead, mainly b/c we're doing it on a Thursday night rather than a weekend. But it is only wine and soda, coffee, tea, espresso and cappachino - no liquor.

I think mine is going to be about $35 a person or so, maybe 40, we are planning on about 25-30 people. I dont think any out of town people will be included.

I think mine was somewhere between $25 and $35...I don't remember exactly because I didn't book it, but I told my dad that I wouldn't book a place that was more than $35 pp since his girlfriend was paying I didn't want to take advantage - and it was in NYC! We only invited the BP with their spouses/dates and immediate family.

Re: What are you paying per person for your Rehearsal Dinner?
We're doing a family style dinner, because that's what I want. (although I'm considering changing it to a buffet). Heck, there is a full sit down dinner just a few short days later!
I haven't decided on beer/wine/soda v open bar v tab, so until I do, I can't give you price per head, but less than $40 for sure.

Re: What are you paying per person for your Rehearsal Dinner?
I think ours is about $25pp. This does not include beer, wine, or any other kind of alcohol. FH's parents are paying, and they didn't think it was worth it to spend the extra money, so what can I do? Besides its pretty much all of their guests anyway.
