What are you superstitious about?

About superstitions in general -- I make sure never to walk behind a ladder (although, how often am I actually in that situation!! LOL)

Wedding superstitions -- I don't want to see my groom before the ceremony.

Silly stuff.

* picking up my feet over train tracks
* not stepping on the cracks in sidewalks

I do that too - but only sometimes so really, it makes it even sillier I think

Shower superstition - can't use any sharp objects to open the gifts...this might be an Italian superstition..not sure!

My family is the same way (I think it is an Italian thing because no one else ever heard of this!) Also, if anyone buys me knives for my shower, I have to give them a small amount of money (a penny will do) because that's considered bad luck as well.

I am not really superstitious about anything...BUT...some of my family members will not throw a baby shower before the baby is born...

The knife thing is also a big NO NO in my family...

But these are all supersticious things my family has told me..not that I follow it or believe it...

the majority of my family is the same way, we don't do baby showers at ALL (and I personally would never want one myself when the time comes.. )

same here -- we don't do baby showers

I was superstitious about trying on ERings before I was engaged - I guess I wasn't crazy afterall
I'm also superstitious about breaking a mirror - I would hate to do that!!!

My famil does baby showers...but my cousin did the STRANGEST thing that freaked me out

they put the babys name on the registry and then signed the thank you cards with the baby's name..and this is BEOFRE the baby was brn...that crepped me out

I agree about baby showers before the baby is born. I also make sure not to knit anything for friends' babies until they're born. (ALIASPOOK, My needles are ready for you!!!!!!!!!)

Also, I'm a little afraid to be a bridesmaid or sing at a wedding again. I've been a bridesmaid twice, maid of honor once, all in June '03. The two weddings at which I sang and was a bridesmaid, the couple is divorced or going to be soon. The wedding where I was MOH and did not sing, going strong.

Of course I'm being rediculous, but it makes you think.

Then again, I sang at my Uncle's wedding - no problems there. I need to rethink my theories.

The penny per sharp object had to be done at my shower..no if, ands, or buts about it..

My family is the same way.

I HAVE to say 'Have a safe flight' whenever my DH is traveling. Even if it means leaving a message on his voice mail while he's mid-air in the plane.

I'm afraid that one day I won't say that and something bad will happen.

Well not to be morbid, but God Forbid something happened during childbirth.. or to the baby before it was born.. and then to have all the nursery items, clothes, etc all around and no baby to bring home..
