What are your FH's wearing day of?

My FH is INSISTING on wearing a black vest and tie (something that I really wanted the groomsman to wear while he wore a white vest and tie -- now we need to figure out what the GMs will wear). He's not budging and I'm annoyed (granted, I'm well aware that this is so not an issue). Is that going to look dumb??

my FH is wearing a black tuxedo with a black vest and the grey burberry check tie - he doesnt like the white/ivory vests and to be honest im not to crazy about them either - i happen to think he'll look much more handsome in the black vest - so that is what he is wearing - everyone will know he is the groom - his groomsmen will also be wearing black vests just a different tie - the original burberry check tie (which matches with my BM dress) - so FH will still stand out from them...

My FH is insisting that he wears a blue vest and tie. I HATE this b/c he'll just look like a groomsman, but whatever. Its not worth fighting w/him over. Although he is wrong, obviously.

Silk beige suite :) We looked at other stuff but everything was wool. He would die in a wool suit

We actually just went yesterday for tuxes!! He's wearing white vest and tie.

My FH and I had a thing over this too. I wanted him to wear a black suit with a white vest and tie, but he doesn't want to wear it. So, now him and the BM are both wearing black suit, with black vest and black tie....I just didn't want to argue...lol

DH wore the white check vest with a white stripe tie....but i think you can make it work. We had GM in platinum and Dads in Charcoal, either of those would still work for GM with your DH wearing black....

My FH is wearing the same thing as his groomsmen. I figured that I should choose my battles, and this wasnt one I was really going to engage in. He didnt pick out my wedding dress, so I am not going to pick out his tux.

My FH is wearing a black tux with the rum vest and tie (to match my sash) and the GM are wearing black with wine vests and ties....

FH is wearing black tux, white shirt, ivory tie and vest

GM are wearing black tux, white shirt, black vest and burberry tie (classis pattern)

i really dont think it matters if they are dressed the same as their groomsmen - everyone knows who the groom is KWIM?

my FH is dressing in something that is his style - he has a slew of burberry ties already - thats his thing so i bought him the grey tie b/c i thought it would be nice for him to wear something that is 'him' on the wedding day - i rather him be in his own style than wear something he doesnt love just because its expected - at first i told him he should wear the white vest but i think that overall the black test will look best and i rather him look as sexy as can be then wear the white vest just because he is the groom....i think its best to let the groom wear what he wants - its his day too

the gm are wearing black tux, black vest, light pink tie and fh is wearing black tux, white vest, light pink tie. We did argue for a little bit over the colors but in the end I let him do what he wanted, but I'm still bitter!

Thanks everyone. I'm hoping that when we go to finalize things, the salesmen at Men's Warehouse will convince him to wear white. I really like the white!! LOL

Try talking to him once more, explain to him that you want him to stick out.....or what about a compromise..
he still wears the black vest but wears a white tie..
i have seen this and it looks really good.

but if all else fails, don't stress it....he will look classic and handsome in the black..

everyone is loooking at you anyways!!

this is what my dh wore. I was going to have him wear black like the GM's, but he wanted this and It looked very nice.

FH is wearing all black with a white tie... his GM are wearing a wine colored vest and tie. It's something that he liked and it makes him happy so i wasn't going to argue him about it. Hopefully the all black will look nice.

GM's are in black tux , platinum vest and tie


My dad is a diva , refused to wear what the GM's were wearing and bought a shirt and tie ( in plum to match my BM's ) at barney's . I wanted him in grey but he is paying so i said nothing

I agree with you... I like the groom in white/ivory... however, of all the other things he could have picked, i like the black. It's very classic and elegant.
