I'm going to my parent's house in the morning/early afternoon for lunch. Then DH and I are going to go to the city for dinner w/ the in laws and their family.

It's going to be exhausting. This whole sharing/splitting the holidays is going to get tiring.

We will be going to DH's family's house for thanksgiving. Not sure about the eve considering we're 'old' and if anything we'll just go to the local spot.

DH and I are having his parents over, possibly bil & sil & niece.

I have to redeem myself because the turkey I cooked like 3 years ago was underdone It was my first turkey ever

DH and I are going to see my parents that weekend for a late thanksgiving lol. The traffic is a nightmare from NJ to LI is a nightmare on holidays so we decided to do it this way.

lol Dh and the in laws were so sweet, I wasn't in the room when they cut into the bone and saw that it wasn't done and they were trying to hide it from me. Of course i noticed though! I had brined that turkey for 2 days and everything! it was just not cooked like by the bones, the breast was cooked and we ate that and there was so many sides that it was fine. Still, I'm looking for redemption this year!

Re: What are your plans...

My in-laws have a house in southern Maine where they always host Thanksgiving, so we will be going there. Though she ostensibly makes everything for dinner, I always help out a ton and end up making a few things. And my hubbie will be making a raspberry pie (I think) and I will probably make orange zest-sea salt shortbread and an apple crisp.

This year my mom will be having it at her house (my Aunt used to do it every year) and so we will be going there as well as DH family along with my family. It's gunna be a full house, but I am excited.

And I think we are going to go to the thanksgiving day parade!!! I have never been and my parents good friend is NYPD and they have a special section on the route so we are going to go there to watch the parade.

Thanksgiving we spend part of the time at DH's aunts house with his family, then we head to my grandparents house (being Italian we eat from sun up to sun down while DH's family one has one course - this was a shocker to me the first time we went )

Friday, mom and I will get up at the butt crack of dawn to go shopping. I have to be home by 12:30 so that we can get the car packed so DH, my SIL, and I can drive up to MA to have Thanksgiving take 2 with his dad.

Gotta love divorced parents and tons of holidays!
