What are your top 3 smallish reception sites...

Original post by TattooAnkh

I've already seen 18 places, and I'm driving myself *crazy* afraid to miss out on the perfect one.

Since I've allocated only one more day of looking, I was hoping you girls you give me your top 3 favorite sites for small receptions (100-130 people). Places that are pretty for an Oct./Nov. wedding are a plus (i.e. fall foliage, and a pretty inside in case of inclement weather).

Thank you all so much for your help!!!!!

Tall Grass Country Club

I got married at Tall Grass, the minimum was 80. I had a fall wedding and I thought it was beautiful. I saved SO MUCH on the catering because Tall Grass was inexpensive I was able to add TONS of extras and splurge on things like my hair and dress. I had my ceremony there as well. You can see pics and read my review of it if you want:

Oh, and Douglaston Manor is also adding a brand new room that will be sort of like an arboretum room with a view of the golf course. I think construction is supposed to finish this spring. It was really under construction when I saw it, but the plans looked GORGEOUS. That room would work for a smaller wedding, too. (As would the glass room there)

I know HelenZ is getting married there -- maybe she has some dirt on the new room!

I'm getting married at Sans Souci in May. The room is intimate and has a sunken dance floor with a beautiful view of the water. I'm sure it would be lovely in the fall, as well. Their max. is 180, and I only had to guarantee 100 people for a Sat. night wedding.

I would suggest:

1. West Sayville Country Club
2. Louis XVI in Patchogue
3. Old Field Club

I would have to agree and say San Souci. I am not getting married there but when I visited I thought it would be absolutely perfect for a 100-130 person event. It is very intimate and you get the entire place to yourself. I would definitely check it out!

I'm getting married at the GW Manor in July. I'm having 80 at my wedding, but the Mt. Vernon Room can accommodate up to 120, I'm told. It's a beautiful room with windows all around. The manor has a frayed elegance and Old World charm that I love, but it may not be everybody's cup of tea.

We didnt' look at that many, because we feel in love with Douglaston Manor. They hold from 50-350.

Miller Place Inn?!?!? We're getting married there - it holds, like, 225 or something like that. I was suggesting places for, say, 80....
