well, first of all, i'm a dork and to me, the beaches are on the north shore and the ocean is on the south shore, so everyone who i talk to doesn't undertand me when i say i am going to the beach...i don't know, i have always thought beaches to be calm and oceans had waves. so anyway, i go to crabmeadow beach or west meadow. for the ocean, i go to robert moses field 2 or ditch plains in montauk.

Long Beach & Robert Moses. And sometimes Jones for their boardwalk.

Edited to add: I'm closest to Smith's Point, but don't care for it.

i like long beach
but we have a cabana at silver point so we go to atlantic beach mostly

I mostly go to Short Beach (in Smithtown) because we have a boat and you can bring the boat right up to the beach there. They also have camping

Since I've been living in Queens we go to Jones Beach, but I miss living in the Town of Hempstead- I loved Lido Beach (but not enough to pay non-resident fees!)

South Beach!!!!!!!!!

I do not go to the Beach when I am in NY.....I dunno why, but when I am in Fla, I always go to South Beach!
