What bridal party is TOO big?

What bridal party is TOO big?

I was talking to my fiance about who would be in our bridal party (basically who would be my bridesmaids) and our family would definitely have to be in it because they have all been supportive in our relationship throughout the years! So it would be my two sisters (one of them is my maid of honor), then his two sisters. One of his sisters has a daughter who's going to be 15 next year. So that's already 5. Then I have 4 BEST friends that I love with all my heart. They have been there for me through thick and thin and a lot of hard times (with family, not FH).

My question is, would it be too much to have those 9 women in my bridal party?? Do pictures come out good when there's that many people in the wedding?

I don't think it's too much. Do what feels right, if those girls mean a lot to you, numbers don't matter

I'm having 8. My friend is having 9. Whatever you want is great, but just consider that you'll need a bigger limo ($$) and you'll have to buy more bridal party gifts ($$$$$$$$)

I am having 7 people. It is more important that you have the people that you want then keeping it to a particular number!

you'll also have to have a bigger flower budget, and will have to deal with a LOT of opinions, especially when you pick dresses! I had 5, and that was more than enough for me, but its totally up to you!

Thank you, everyone! This was truly a big help! I just thought it might be too big the way I would want everyone who I love dearly, and it would look funny. But you are right, if I love them, and they love me, and supported me all the way, then they should be there.

I have 9 and my FH has 12....i was stressed that it was uneven and too big....but in the end, its my day and i'm gonna do what i want. It would be horrible to leave out those special people in our lives. Yea its more opinons and more $$, but oh well.....we only get married once!

I just didnt ask opinions. I went my sister she modeled them and I picked. Done and done. Honestly though all my girls loved the dress. (Or at least they say they do lol)

I have 10! So far everything has worked out great. I was worried also but there was no way around it really! I think you should do it if you want to!

You do have to budget more as far as BM gifts, flowers for them , etc, but there are ways to work around it!

I don't think you could have too big of a bridal party. It's all personal preference It's as many as you want.

And more flowers. And planing ANYTHING is going to be really hard when you try to coordinate schedules. but the pictures should be beautiful.

I have 7 adults and 6 kids and FH has 7 guys and 5 kids. I couldn't cut any becuase a lot of them are our nieces and nephews and you can't pick and choose between them. I basically am including them but becuase of the kids I told my photog to take pics early before the wedding with them and if they make it, good. If not, ok.

I get stressed about the large group but I feel like these are all of the important people in our lives and we coudln't say one was more important than another. Its at the point where I say 'f it' the more the merrier.

I agree with the above. As long as your okay with the increased price associated with a larger bridal party--be happy and do what you would like with your day!

We didn't do FH's brother/sister/BIL/SIL but did their kids (3 FG, 1RB, 2 Jr. BM) because it was getting out of control and also bc FH is 13 years younger than his siblings.

But our bridal party is huge (25 people) and I'm not worried one bit about pics
