WHat can I cut down here is a list of my spendings, and how much..

Banquet hall: $18,360 +$495 for ceremony
Officiant: $350 plus tip
Photographer & Video:$4,000 (hopefully)
rings: $1,000 (hopefully)
gown-$1300
honeymoon: $4,000
Make-up/hair:$350 (includes tip)
BM/GM gifts:$700 (includes mil, mother)
Flowers:$1500
DJ:$1600
Oh my god, I forgot invitations.. $400 (?) maybe we can make our own..

THank god, FMIL is doing the favors..

am I spending way too much, or does all of this seem average.. I think it's average..

Makeup and Hair seems high. Is that just for you? Did you get quotes yet?

sorry I dont know where to tell u to cut back b/c everyones different with whats most important to them

eta - I also think the makeup and hair were high.. the rings also unless you are getting platinum or diamonds?

Well if it makes you feel any better you a paying about $200 less than me for the Estate and I booked in 2001-- boy do I feel like I got ripped off--LOL

agree its alot - here are a few ideas

can you try cut in makeup/hair
have honeymoon on 1st anniversay - stay
at a nice bed/breakfast for a few days ??
flowers?? can we cut here
can the guest list be trimed to lessen the hall expns?

Our hall minimum is 150, so we can hopefully get 150 and keep it at the minimum, that's saying if we have 180 people..

I added the dj..

that's where I'm stuck with the honeymoon, we were thinking just going to st. maarten, it will be a lot cheaper.. than sandals..

I would see where u could cut for hair/makeup....also, can you cut your list down at the hall at all? And what about the Bridal party gifts? Did you get them already? Can possibley cut down on them....

we're getting married in MARCH.. when we were looking at June it was about $127 pp.. that was for like a sunday morning.. lol.. just kidding..we also got him down on our minimum because of march..

No, I didn't get them yet, but that's if we spend $50 on each person.. that's not really that much..GOOD IDEA GIRLS>. more help

TO be honest, I think your cuts are not going to be more then a few hundred...I would cut the make-up hair a little, and Photo's a little, I think you can get a HUGE package with DVD video for less then $4000 at any large studio/photo...rememebr you can( not matter what they say) negotiate with them. The dj..is that with lights or extra b/c thats a lot for just reception , and I'm using a DJ that swears he costs more and its still not that high( no lights) ...Its the hall thats getting you with the money...

the only thing i see is hair/make up seems alot but i havent priced that yet otherwise you are paying alot less thank i am ...loooks pretty good to me... wish my numbers looked like that

Wow, that scared me! LOL....I'm onlyhaving 125 and maybe thats why my hall is so much less....how many people are you estimating?

1600 for your dj is a little high.. are you getting alot of extras?? maybe we can cut some out? ( I cant talk b/c im spending at least 1k more then that )

thats with 180 people, our minimum is 150 so hopefully we'll have that.. but right now we have a guest list of 289 and we've cut all we can cut..

I'm sorry our dj is $1500.. we get

ceremony key boarder
cocktail key boarder
photo montage during reception
and 5 hours of DJ and MC.. I thought that was GOOD.. maybe I'm wrong..

and 250 giveaways.. which we want..
