What can I do? Help!

What can I do? Help!

Hi,

I just discovered this forum and would need your help on dealing with CLM and better prep for the wedding day.

My date is 06/10/06 & ceremony on-site org. at 1:30PM but, forced to postpone to 2PM.
I wrote a formal letter to CLM about 3 wks ago (yet no reply). Originally, Nick told my FH over the phone that we can decorate at 11AM but, when I took my florist to scope out the site, Lou said 1PM b/c another wedding will use the same space for Cocktail Hr. until 1PM. My guests will arrive in that half-hour before the ceremony while my florist and her assistants decorate... this can’t work, right?

Then, found out, I can only start using the new bridal suite at 1PM which, I’ll have to get dressed first, then have photographer/videographer shoot while I'm getting ready... it's not enough time, right? Now, I'm forced to have my big day from 2PM to 7PM (Atrium). Is this enough time for pics and making a nice edited video?

Now, I feel that CLM is all about making $$$ and don't care about the significance of a wedding. They'll have four events on the same day that share a common space and not give reasonable time to each to setup. What can I say or do to have CLM to be more reasonable? Or, please advise on how I can better prep for the wedding day given the time constraints.

Thanks in advance.

Did you postpone your ceremony to 2pm or did CLM? Why don't you write down ALL your questions/concerns and sit down with them.

I know they have 2 bridal suites now so maybe you can get in one of them earlier?

Thanks!

Forgot to mention, Atrium brides will use the new bridal suite in the basement and I was told by CLM that I can't use it until 1PM (30 min. before my original ceremony time).

I postponed it to 2PM and will sit with CLM when they call to discuss in person: menu, finalize headcount, etc. (Have you done this yet?) I'm just still upset with them and not ready to talk yet.

Also, during my visit with my florist, I spotted two dirty skylight glasses in the Atrium and asked if they'll be cleaned/fixed. Lou said those are air-pockets between the two layers of glass caused by a hole on the outer glass and may not be fixed.

BTW, we are date twins, hall twins, and HM twins.

Pretty excited about FP!

Re: What can I do? Help!

My FH and I went to CLM on this past Sunday and we selected our menu & wedding cake. Yay!

Here's an update on my issues/concerns:

1. Bridal Suite – Now, I can start using it at 12pm if I walk in from the side door (Lou/Nick will let me in; door opens from inside) instead of original time of 1pm

2. Ceremony Decoration – I can now have my florist decorate from 9am–11am. However, I have to let the couple before me (their ceremony is at 11:30am) to use my decorations first. But, it makes me a little less stressed. However, I'm just not sure if the decorations will last for my ceremony at 2½ hours later (mine starts at 1:30pm). I'm just hoping that the wind won't be too harsh on them

3. The Atrium skylight – pending (need to follow up)

Lou was nice and said that we shouldn't postpone the ceremony to 2pm... so, we're keeping the original 1:30pm time and will decorate early (again, hoping, everything will stay sharp).

I'd like to say that Nick is great! He addressed my concerns. When Nick called me last week to schedule the 'menu meeting', he told me that my florist can decorate from 9am-11am. He also stopped by Lou's office yesterday to reassure me that my florist can decorate and my day will be nice.

I appreciate Nick's efforts!

Here's an update on CLM's constructions:

1. I like the new bridal suite. It's got granite floor and very spacious.

2. The altar isn't finished yet but, I think it'll be beautiful based on Lou's description of the floor plan and interior design.

3. Cocktail Hour room – new crown moldings, carpet.. looks good.

How about getting a nice hotel suite for your prep. That way you're more comfortable and you don't have to rush.
