I am so lucky to have the BEST FSIL in the world - she is like a combo sister/best friend/mom to me. The only person I am closer to is her brother. Unfortunately, she 'opted out' of my wedding because she feels silly being a BM at age 42 - I am 28 and all of my friends are 28, so she felt like she would look ancient (which she wouldn't - she's beautiful and so young looking). Any ideas of something I can do for her at the wedding or rehearsal dinenr to make her feel special?
OH - we're not having readings at the wedding because it is interfaith and we don't want to get into all of that.

Re: What can I do to make my FSIL feel special?
Could you ask her to read a poem about love or marriage? It wouldn't be religious, but still spiritual

I am giving mine a gift at the rehearsal dinner even though she is not in the wedding and I will say something such as her being very helpful, special person and how I can wait for us to be family, blah blah blah

Could she pass out programs and during the reception, pass around the guest book? I would also give her a corsage if you have her do something.

what about putting a special acknowledgement in the program for all of the help and support she has given you. you could simply reprint your first post!
