I'm just being dramatic.

I dunno... I was all about cutting out EVERYTHING (group dances, etc.). But I realized that my guests will probably want to dance to those songs, and I feel bad not letting them request those songs.

Sometimes I think when people cut toooo much out from the traditional wedding you take an element of fun out of them. But that's just me.

My new plan is to not have my DJ play those songs (especially the paradise/dashboard song by Meatloaf - thats a 100% noooooooo no matter what), but if my guests request them I'll tell the DJ to allow all requests.

I feel bad that my guests are giving us a gift and they won't get to hear a song that they might like/want to dance to...

ohhh you sounded soo serious, hahahahha. I was going to say poor guests , no food

NO Way!!!!! I love these at a wedding! It gets people excited and its FUN!

My wedding is all about people having fun.......not being uptight and proper.......JMO

i dont know if i am doing this yet BUT i remember someone referred to the entrance as the 'armpit tunnel' and i thought that was HYSTERICAL!!

FH didn't want the bouquet or garter until I gave him an idea about him...my sister went to a wedding and they did the most hilarious thing with the garter - she said everyone was crying laughing - no one had seen anything like it! I told FH what they did and he agreed to do it - he thought it was hilarious too!

Thank you for realizing that some poeple dont think the same things are cheezy. I for one AM doing the bouquet and garter toss because I feel it is part of a traditinal wedding. But I wouldn't go calling someone else's pans cheezy no matter what I thought.

u know what, i thought i wouldnt want to do the bok and garter toss but i went to a wedding last week, and they did it, and it was sooo hysterical, i never laughed so hard in my entire life. I guess it depends on the individuals because some people can make it really fun!

So true! It also depends how many single people are actually attending the wedding to catch. It doesn't make sense with 4 people.

We are not doing:
1. cake in the face
2. macarena or chicken dance
3. armpit tunnel
4. group dances
5. bride cuts the cake song
6. last dance song

Macarena, Electric Slide & Chicken Dance, Dollar Dance, bo-k toss, garter or the public cutting of the cake, just personal preference! Oh and absolutely no give aways from the dj...it's all just personal preference.

We aren't doing the cake cutting or dj giveaways either.

We are NOT doing:
-Cake in the face
-Conga
-Mother-daughter dance
-All other group dance songs, EXCEPT cha cha slide...

Im sure there are others that we wont do but I cant think right now....As for songs.. I think I have pretty unique ones picked out...Not traditional LOL!

I'm doing it all!! I love having fun with the day. Plus, I think the guests love getting drunk and making a$$es out of themselves for a little while. It's the things you look back on and remember. I want people to be constantly having fun and laughing.

not doing any group dances - we are not the group dance people type

we weren't doing teh bq or garter toss but feel its another way to add a song that is more us then just the announcements and cocktail hour. BUT depends on how many singles are there - BUT NO putting the garter on the girl who caught the bq.

No readings - find them borrrrrrrring - zzzzzzzzzzz

No traditional wedding style songs such as the orchestra instrumental prelude - possibly getting rid of the wedding march and the walking down the ailes song that everyone plays.

We are having a diff. cake cutting song - i hate that the bride cuts the cake crap - no smashie of cake in either face

Can I just state right now that DANCING ON A CLOUD is the cheesiest, tackiest thing EVER!!!!

I will DEFINITELY not be doing that at my wedding. I will also not be doing a Dais (however it's spelled)... I REALLY don't like when people do that. And I will not be doing the garter toss, or the cake in the face thing, or the 'cut the cake song' Or have the DJ hand out 'props'

You're never going to believe this....but there was a festival in CT that my FH, my mom and I all went to and the Village People were performing YMCA, so now it is a joke between the three of us that we are professionals when it comes to the hand gestures....so we will have to play that. Our families are big drinkers and big dancers so I'm down for whatever makes everyone happy!
