what city in the Amalfi Coast to stay???

I know you can take day trips to most of the surrounding cities in the amalfi coast but if you had to choose one of them to stay in for a few nights...which would it be?? Positano, Sorrento, or Ravello????

Its our 1 yr anniv trip we are planning! :)

TIA

Congrats on one year!!! My dad is from Italy and I have been to the Almalfi coast! I asked him what he thought about your question...

He said def. say in Positano or Ravello and says Ravello is actually better! He said that Sorrento is too over crowded and too much traffic! Def. do a day trip though...

He said when you go to Ravello, go to Villa Cimbrone on top of the hill...its beautiful!

hope this helps a bit...you can FM if you have any other questions!!

Our travel agent recommended Sorrento because it has the most access to transportation to and from the other cities... there's also more to do there at night when you get back from day trips to the other cities...

I would definitely agree that Sorrento is the best place to stay. You've got easy access to Capri via a ferry and you can easy take a bus or a ferry to Amalfi, Postiano etc.

I personally like the Amalfi and Positano side of the pennisula better than Sorrento side. the sorrento side is still beautiful but a little more built up and way more tourists... i dont think you can go wrong with either. We stayed near Positano and took boat trips to Capri, and Anacapri and Amalfi. it was fantastic!!

Positano was my Favorite! It is gorgeous. Went to Capri from there.
