what color for kitchen tile?

what color for kitchen tile?

I thought maybe some of you could give me your ideas -
kitchen is small (floor is 30 square feet)
all cabinets/counters are white
appliances are mostly white with some black (like the stove door)
my everyday dishes are Summer Breeze and I think for my shower I'm getting some of the stuff you'd have on the counters, canisters, etc

The only things I can change are the floor and add my backsplash. Cabinets and appliances are staying.

Any ideas? blue tile? neutral? multi colored?
Thanks for your help.

Personally, I would go with a neutral b/c you might tire of the blue in a couple of years and want to buy a different set of everyday dishes 'for a change.'

I wouldnt match your kitchen (which is extremely timeconsuming and expensive to change) with your dishes (which are easy to replace).

What color is your countertops?

Thanks for responding. The countertops are white too, but they're really cheap. And I found out that we're going to replace them too! yeah!

So what are some good options then?

What are you replacing it with?

I am a big fan of wood in the kitchen so we have been considering Pergo but then changed our minds to use Engineered wood instead. Still not sure.

There are lots of options. If you want something solid you can use granite or marble but its pricey.

If you want a neutral ceramic tile, you can get basic tiles for about $1 sq foot. I have that now and hate it b/c of the grout lines but everyone has a different opinion on tiles.

And of course you can put down linoleum but that is not very durable.

I wouldn't really match the tile to my dishes either. What happens if you someday select a new pattern, are you going to do your floor over. I would basically stick to the color of your cabinets, countertop, and appliances. Try to match your floor with them.
