the green is awful...we are also changing the hardware too...
this is a house DH and his momown together...she wants to do it a peach/orange...but we are trying to convince her otherwise...(the curtains are being replaced too)

Re: what color for these cabinets?
I would just try to match the color around them so they blend in a bit. Maybe add some open shelving over the counters?

Re: what color for these cabinets?
Are you considering painting them or replacing them? If you were thinking of painting them I think a terracotta (sp?) color would look nice and might be a good compromise instead of peach...

I say white. It may be boring, but I like the clean, simple look.

Re: what color for these cabinets?
I would try to use an accent color. It's hard for me to tell what colors are in there ... but maybe whatever the darkest tone is on the tile .. or something that would be complimentary from the floor tile.
In my opinion, trying to match the wall tile closely would be too much of that color.
white is out...b/c its on the beach and way to hard to keep clean...we don't go there often enough...
terracotta is something MIL would go for...
the accent color in the tiles (the ones that are hand painted) is a rusty maroon...what about that?

I was thinking a deep mossy hunter green, or a deep brick/terra cotta.

To me, that sounds like it might look nice.

Youre going to think Im nuts, but I kind of like the green. Change the curtains to match.

I like the green too!! Of course, none of the draperies or furniture match so that might be a problem.

I like the green - but not with those tiles. The idea of terracotta is nice...what about a brick red - for some punch? Or a rust color?
The terracotta, while beautiful, might just blend in...so I guess it depends on the personality of the families and the look you're hoping to achieve.

I like the terra cotta as well. Why don't you invite a representative for one of those refacing cabinets places. They might have some ideas that we don't even know exist.

I kind of like the green also. The terracotta sounds nice. I've seen those cabinets with two colors on them the in lay a different color and that looks great too!!

i think thats the problem...the furniture in the living room section is all pink and blues...which is nice for the beach...and I would love to change it all...but I'd rather buy a new couch for my home...than one that I only go to once a month...
this is the other side of the room...(and the one couch above has a sheet over it...it matches the one in this picture...

Re: what color for these cabinets?
If you're concerned about the color of the couches .. maybe a nice slip cover over them would help to bring the spaces together if a color you choose for the cabinets might not work with the current fabric on the couches.
As for cabinet color .. what about Benjamin Moore Country Romance, from the Serenity Collection? Or maybe Burnt Russet or Twilight Dreams from their Classic Colors. They have a pretty cool website that you can experiment with colors.
