What color paper should I use for my programs?

What color paper should I use for my programs?

My colors are red, yellow and gold as an accent. I want to print the program in black ink because it's just easier. I thought of doing red paper with a gold ribbon, but I think the black ink on the red will be too dark. Any suggestions?

are you printing them yourself or having them done? white printing would look striking

if you are doing it yourself, what about a red cover with a monogram, and white inside pages?

Yes, I'm doing them myself. It's only going to be one sheet front and back folded so my options are limited somewhat.

I agree, the black on red might just be too dark. . what about printing it on gold paper and using a red ribbon?

here comes the paper nut with all her scrappbook esque ideas :) :)
funny how i have ideas for everyone but me :)

ok - so this is what i would do. sounds like you're doing booklet style 8.5 x11 yes?
ok well i would do it almost like a matte....
if thats the size - do Red 8.5 x 11 then have a piece of Yellow and trim it down to 8 x 10.5. print your program on the yellow with black ink(you can trim it after to make printing easier) then mount it on the red. fold and add gold ribbon. so you'll have a red cover now. if you want to print on the front - same thing. you'll mount the yellow paper on there. you would do a seprate 8.5 x 11 yellow sheet. print two covers per sheet and trim them down to 4 x 5.25. then mount the cover on the front. this will give you a red boarder with yellow paper and black ink.

if thats too much assembly and you didn't want to go that far into it...my only advice would be NOT to print with black on red - it will be very difficult to read. Do yellow for sure. maybe a red paper belly band with gold ribbon or something?

good luck let us know how it turns out!

This sounds like too much work for me Thanks for the info, but I just want to keep it simple to one sheet to print and fold

Michaels and AC Moore have paper. Or if you can get to the city, go to Paper Presentation. Lots of stuff and great prices.

what about printing on yellow cardstock (staples sells them). use 1 red sheet as the cover and tie it with gold ribbon?

WOW! I had pictured the same thing in my head as soon as she asked the question. FREAKY!

Otherwise, if you want to keep it really simple, I'd print with a dark red on a yellow paper. It's just as easy to print with red as it is to print with black (if you have a color printer of course). If you want to add the gold, you can either do a gold & red ribbon or a gold stamp (of a flourish/design) or something.

Take a look at my DIY albums. My colors are gold and red. I did gold invites with red ribbons. My programs are printed on gold paper with black ink and red monogram. HTHs.
