This is something I have been having trouble with.
My bridesmaid dresses are very dark and plaid. The most prodominant color is a fudge brown.
I dont know what color roses to use with them. I am Having Pink Roses in my bouquet, so I also want something that will match, sort of.
what did others do with dark bm dresses? If you have pics please post?
I was thinking maybe a red, but I was also told the dark dress will wash out dark Flowers in the Pic, Is this true.
any help would be great, thank girls kimberly

When you said brown, my first reaction was orange & yellow. But then you said you're carrying pink and that would not go w/ orange and yellow one bit. however, I have a chocolate brown suit that I always wear with dark purple & pink & light blue- maybe you can do that. What I did was bring a swatch to my florist appt and then I picked by holding flowers against the swatch.

I think the simpler the better. Since you have color in your bouquet, what if you go with all white (or cream since it's a better match for brown) for your bridesmaids? You can add some berries to the bouquets to give it a spurt of color, and I think the deep dark red of the berries would offset it beautifully!

Since you already have pink in your bouquet, I would stick with that color scheme. Maybe use different flowers in the same shade, or a deeper shade of the same flowers.
Pink and brown sound beautiful...but adding another AND the plaid might be too much.

I concur with the use of pink with brown.. that would be nice.
Pastel yellow would go with pink- i was thinking more bright yellow and orange...

Here is a pic of the dress, looks more burgandy in pic then brown, but in person looks more brown.
I am defintely going to give the florist a swatch.
They suggested the pink and yellow, but now I am second guessing it, I was thinking since its plaid, so much already going on Just ONE color may be better.
I dont know why I stressing about it, One of my bridesmaids that has been helpful mention how she could not see pink with this dress and it got me thinking and Now confused.

I recommend a cream color. The contrast will be beautiful.

I would reccomend Cream and Light Pink with a splash of Dark Red or Burgandy, i am a designer by trade and i think it would not only compliment yours, but really look good in pictures too!!! Good Luck !!!

I might even change my rose color, NOW i am btw the pink roses with stephs or Dark Red with no Stephs, keep seeing Ads with Dark red roses next white dress, looks amazing.
I dont know why so late in the planning I decide to rethink my whole Flower color thing, just something else to drive me crazy I guess.

My girls wore black and carried cranberry/and burnt orange colored flowers. There were even some black magic roses in them that are very dark. It looked great against the black. May not match the pink that you are thinking but if you are considering changin yours you may want to look into those color schemes. Lets see if I can post a pic.

I changed my mind on my bouquet from stephs to black magic red's for the same reason. I kept seeing gorgeous colored bouq's & was looking for something that would stand out! I have not regretted my decision ONE BIT! JMO, but the whites blend too much & can hardly be seen on your dress.
I would encourage you to take your swatch to your florist & come up with a colored bouquet that matches the girl's dresses. Especially if you go w/ the cream & anna roses from Karen's post ... BEAUTIFUL ....
