I would strongly advise against a lavender tux!
However ties and vests with black tuxes or brown tuxes in those colors will look nice. If it were me I'd probably match the sash on the bm's dress to the ties of the groomsmen or at least in the same color family. Maybe a champagne vest/tie combo.

I think lavender would look good. I stuggled with the pairing of my bridal party's looks so I took pics of the girls dresses with me when we picked out the tuxes so I could visualize what it would look like.

Of course not. They do not have to match at all if you don't want them to. Think more coordinate. Too many colors may look messy but maybe suggest a few options and then take the pictures of the dresses with you when you go to look. I think champagne would look great though and give you so many color options for flowers.
Also, if you plan on having colored flowers you could also tie in the colors of their vests and ties with those as well.

This is the tux we are doing. 2 of girls are in brown, 1 in taupe and the other camel.
