Planning to have an engagement party in the summer b/c of nursing school. My question is....
Do the save the dates go out before engagement party invitations or after?
Or does it not matter?

I did mine before the e-party only because we didn't want to keep answering the question 'when is the big day?'

STD's should go out anywhere from 8-12 months before the wedding... Most likely your e-party will be before then

I would say the E-party does...but a lot of people give them as the favor.
My eparty was Aug 11th, 2007 and I'm not sending the STDs until Aug 1st, of 2008.

you can give them out as a tag on the eparty favor...or you can just mail them out after the party. Just dont make the STD a part of the favor...

Thats what we're doing. Our plan is to have the eparty on May 31, 2008, which is exactly 1 year before. And for those who aren't coming we'll mail them around the same time.

my engagement party is MArch 8th.. but we are doing just small immediate family and bridal party for that.. which is about 50 people.. so we are mailing the save the dates to our whole guest list around the time of March 21st... a year to the date of ourw edding
