what constitutes OOT

what constitutes OOT

We're getting married at a mid point between families and the venue is about 45 min from my family and a little over an hour from FH's family.

Does this distance make it OOT for everyone? ahhhh my no's are gonna be sooooo high

I would constitute OOT if the person lives out of state. My RH was in LI and i had people come from the Bronx and Westchester and their drive was an hour or more and i didn't think they were OOTers.

Eta a little more.

I think OOT would be out of state.

ha we're so screwed... FH's family is from CT, my family is from NJ and we're getting married in Westchester NY

I'm being dramatic.. at this point we don't have any surprise No's but i'm getting nervous!

If you're getting married in Westchester, it's a nice midway point between NJ and CT. Depending on how far into NJ and CT your guests are, I wouldn't say they'd all be OOT.

i think 2 hour + car ride is OOT.

I consider OOT out of state.

OOT doesn't mean tri-state area, IMO... it means 'a plane ride would be more reasonable'

The majority of our OOTers were from NC (including DH). We had several MA, a WA, AL, GA, and many DCers & FLers. I felt very lucky so many friends and family were willing to travel so far to join us for our wedding.

I considered OOT anyone who had to cross a bridge or a tunnel to get here. Those were the people who were going to have to stay in a hotel. I didn't have one guest who crossed the bridges and went home.

In your case I would say probably over an hour would be OOT, its basically if you think they are going to stay in the hotel.

Did they stay in the hotel though? I had friends from NYC, Bronx and Westchester and they all stayed in the hotel. I consider any wedding I HAVE to stay in the hotel for OOT.

No they didn't stay in a hotel.

Well - our RH was on LI but we had family come from Buffalo NY - mind you - that's not out of state - but it is definitely OOT. I would say anything over a 2-3 hour car ride - OOT - in or out of state. JMHO
