roses or hydrangeas???????? i love them both, but maybe the cost will help me decide on what i want to use to decorate the bows on the church pews.

Re: What costs more................
Depends on the time of year, I believe. Roses are grown all over, so I would think that they would be the less expensive choice!

Re: What costs more................
actually the hydragenas cost more. i wanted to incoporate them into my CP's and my florist said i'm better off using all roses since hydrangenas are more expensive. he said the reason why is because they wilt very quickly so he wonld need to order the high end ones if i want them to last the whole reception.

Re: What costs more................
Roses are one of the least expensive flowers you can use for a wedding - but they don't look inexpensive.
Hydrangeas are more expensive... but, they are fuller so you may not need to use as many hydrangeas to achieve as full a look as if you were using roses.
Hydrangeas are my favorite flower so we're using them for the wedding.

Re: What costs more................
I had been told by more than one florist that roses are the most 'cost effective' flowers.

Re: What costs more................
I believe roses would be cheaper. My florist said that the cheapest flowers are carnations and then roses because they ship flat.

Re: What costs more................
I would think Roses, but I also think it depends on what time of year they are available. Just ask the florist, or better yet call another one and ask to get a different quote.

Re: What costs more................
They're about the same but be carefully b/c my florist told me that hydrengas don't always hold up well in heat. She is wrapping mine with a wet cloth to keep them hydrated and then putting the ribbon, etc around it

hydraneas, I just went to see my florist today...She said roses are $2 to $3 a stem..hydraneas are $12 a stem! They are more than callalillies! I was shocked! She said it was because they are not always in season.

Really! I just answered roses and then saw your post. Jeez I have a big blue hydrangea bush in my front yard....maybe I should sell them
