Roses - evidently they are the least expensive flower to use. Kinda makes you wonder why florists charge so freaking much for them at all the other holidays/events!

Re: What costs more................
yeah, one of the florists i met with kept pushing me to have all these roses (even though, honestly, i HATE roses) because she said they were cheaper and most cost. but i really really don't like them, so i don't care.

Re: What costs more................
it depends... roses are not expensive at all, but they are small, especially when they are only budding.... so you need a lot of them
hydrangeas are more expensive per bloom, but they're HUGE, so you only need a few for a centerpiece...

I had been told by more than one florist that roses are the most 'cost effective' flowers.
Ive been told the same thing

Re: What costs more................
i am a florist and roses are def cheaper. hydrangea averages $2.50 a stem wholesale for south american and about $5 a stem for dutch which is much larger and heartier. roses are generally $1 or less a stem except red roses at vday. its all relative though cause one stem of hydrangea takes up the space of anywhere from 3-5 open roses

Re: What costs more................
Hydrangeas seem to cost a few bucks more. Roses I was told are more typical and easier to keep so that makes them less expensive.
