What did you buy your boss for the holidays?

What did you buy your boss for the holidays?

and what age group/gender are they?

I bought my bosses (husband and wife team) a bottle of wine, a starbucks giftset (she's big on tazo, he loves coffee), and an ornament for one of their 'themed' trees.

Does that seem good enough?

I can always pick up something else tomorrow morning, if necessary.

Nothing actually, i may buy some cookies or a cake for my dept , so it includes my boss ( we work in a small dept)

thanks for responding - I don't want to look cheap, but I don't want to go overboard either, you know?

Last year, we just went out to lunch....no bonus. I have a strong feeling we're getting bonuses this year (the payroll guy AND the accountant were in a meeting together, and they hardly ever talk! ), so I wanted to make sure I had something...know what I mean?

I just gave everyone cards. A couple of people got a little something. There are too many people where I work.

To me that seems good Nic... unless you want to add a Blockbuster gift card for some rentals to that deal... That way, they can have a nice night in with their bottle of wine

We do Secret Santa in my office-- the limit is 30 dollars. So, I got Rob (he's a drafter-about 28 years old, has a girlfriend)... I did the Blockbuster thing for him. I got two tubs of popcorn, stuffed them with packs of twizzlers, butterfinger bits, snow caps, junior mints, etc etc... And then I got a $20 gift card for rentals. I wrapped it up to look like a gift basket with clear plastic and curling ribbon-- and that was that!

Of course I got skunked in return-- I must have gotten one of the cheap people b/c I got a scarf that looks cheap and was nowhere NEAR 30 bucks!! Oh well, it's not Rob's fault lol so I bought him something nice...

For my boss (even though we are not supposed to b/c of Secret Santa) I got him a nice bottle of Australian wine (Merlot)... It's rated very high on quality but is reasonably priced. I also picked him up a bunch of raw hides for his doggies from the Raw Hide bar at Petco... I figured it was a nice gesture, not too small but not too big that he would feel bad. He is very good to me so I wanted to get him SOMETHING...

He was really appreciative and I got an unexpected, VERY nice bonus!!!

So, all in all... a good day!

I always love the Blockbuster gift - in fact, I won one at the Fundraiser, remember?

These people have satellite - they don't rent..ever....lol.

I'm out of ideas. I USED TO organize a group gift - I'd take $10 from everyone and get them a nice GC to a restaurant ($100 or so), some wine, wine glasses, etc....but everyone complained that I was asking them for $10 the first week of December (apparently thats too early) , so I said screw it and just got stuff on my own.

Oh yes, the satellite and NetFlix people ruin the Blockbuster gift card idea!! haha...

What about one to Border's? Who couldn't use a nice CD or a good book??
