What did you do with your centerpieces

Did guests just take them at the end of the night?

Did you do some kind of game during the reception for guests to 'win' the centerpiece?

If you did a game, what did you do??

Ok, I know I'm so far away from this but FH and I have already thought about it. He and I collect beach glass so we're going to have it on the table as decoration. Well, whatever color we go with, we're going to put one piece of a different color in front of a place setting and whoever has that piece gets to take home the centerpiece. I definitely don't want to do a dance or anything so either way it will be something simple or just a grab and go if they feel so inclined.

I was thinking the dj may help or not but i was thinking the couple who has been together the longest at each table gets to take it home. (i would make sure there was a couple at each table when i do the sitting to see if that would work out ; o) )

we didnt want a game ... so guests just took them...

since there were 3 dozen roses, I heard that some guests split them up amongst the girls at the table- which was nice..,some greedy people took the the whole vase with flowers---none were left though!

I plan on doing calla lillies in a tall vase. My florist told me that my hall will take the vases to the back, split them up and present each guest at the table with a lilly. I really like that idea....

I'm assuming that the guests will take them. I already have an idea of which of our family members are going to want 1st dibs

Mine are going to be hurricanes with candles and a bunch of bud vases. Some of them are from my sisters wedding, and some are on loan from my aunt. I hope people dont take them! I didn't know people usually took teh centerpieces- but FH says his family does it all the time. So now Im kinda worried about borrowing them from my aunt.

You can donate them to a local hospital. That's what we are planning to do.... haven't worked out the details yet though ( how they will be delivered, etc.)

I'm making sure to buy inexpensive vases as I expect guests to take them. They're not going to walk off with my votive holders though, right? I like my votives and hope to resell some on eBay after the wedding.

oooh, that's a nice idea.... I think I'll do that! Or an assisted living facility. Somewhere where some people could use an extra hug

guests took them and the DJ did a cute little game of 'pass the dollar'.

Our DJ did a game. At first we thought it was the same-old pass around a dollar thing but then it had a funny spin!!

They had a guy at each table take out a dollar and they passed it around. When the music stopped the woman left holding it got the CP and if a guy was holding it he had to pass it to the woman next to him.

So then the MC announced that the ladies got the CPs and the guys had to get up and dance in order to get their dollars back!!!

Our DJ did some kind of 'pass the napkin' game, I didn't see it, but from the pictures it looks like everyone had a blast playing. I know these 'games' sound cheesy and stupid to some of the brides planning, but really they are a lot of fun for the guests.
