What did you have luck in negotiating?

I just answered a post on BHB and I decided to start this topic to help people still trying to book.

I was able to negotiate down my RH per person price and get a lower minimum (only 75!), the flowers, and the photographer and videographer package. A lot may have been because our wedding is in the winter and not on a Saturday. We saved about $5000 over what we probably would have been charged for a Saturday wedding!

So far we booked the RH and the photographer and we were able to negotiate both, it helps that I'm getting married on a Thursday though. FH and I didn't think we had any neg. skills...so we impressed ourselves lolz

I really did not have to negotiate to much because since my wedding is on Thursday my vendors really bought the price down immediately. The only really negotiations was limos, and video. But I saw something I did not need I asked them to remove it to bring the cost down.

We neogtiated the price of the RH and the Photog/Video. Our parents are paying so we tried to get the best prices for them as possible!

Maybe you still have a shot if you have a lot more than your mininum number of people attending. Keep that in mind.

I agree I have alot more then my minimum. When it comes time to the menu I will be definately do some more negotiating.

I know that is very true but is slowly becoming popular. I never intended to pick a Thursday but the date is significant for me so I just went with it. I am glad I did.

I agree I have alot more then my minimum. When it comes time to the menu I will be definately do some more negotiating.

We were offered so much food LOL and my range in 100-150 so I odn't think I can really negotiate, how would you negotiate after the contract?

I was ALMOST a Thursday bride too bc that was the only way I could get married at the Crescent Beach Club which I've loved since I was little... but it still would have been more expensive than the Swan Club, even if we add on the Platinum Package there.

We negotiated our photographer but that was only bc of my mom... she got the photojournalist and a bunch of othe things thrown in for free!

Our flowers and RH were already a pretty good price so we didn't really bargain at all, and our DJ is a friend of FH's so that's saving us money too.

We did get a pretty good price for our RH though, it is a January wedding, but I think we could have haggled it down a little

We got some extras included in the price of the RH. And for photo and DJ we were also able to upgrade for less than originally quoted.

we have a pretty good price for a friday night sep wedding we did negotiate with them and we got so many extras that it was def a good deal...im so nervous to negotiate with vendors but i def have to grow balls lol

They threw that in? I got an hour and a half cocktail hour. My wedding is on a Friday night.

we negotiated good prices for the RH, photog, video, & band. we'll also get a good since on the rings & other jewelry cause his cousin works for a diamond distributor.
