What did you spend on favors?

The favor I really really want is above my price range and I am wondering if I should just bite the bullet and instead give one per couple. How much did you spend on your favors?

I am biting the bullet for our favors. I know they aren't even necessary but I really wanted them and will work extra hard to get them!

My wife and I decided on glass picture coasters and we used them to put the names and table the guest was sitting at. It worked out awesome and everyone got 2 coasters pp. If they're a couple, married or whatever, they would have a set which is nice. Below is the link to where I got them and the price...It's wasn't that bad and they look great.

I think I found them cheaper on another site but these are them.

My aunt is making her homemade Long Island Strawberry Jam that we're putting in mini mason jars (one per person) (not sure of cost)

We're also giving one per couple, a bottle of Long Island Wine. (about 6 dollars per bottle)
(LI theme because we're getting married on the North Fork)

Yes!!! I'm so glad you like the idea. I was wondering if people would be like 'huh, jam?' But I love that my Aunt is making it. She makes it every summer for us. She goes strawberry picking and them makes batches of it. It really is a labor of love! I'm trying to figure out a cute way to wrap it...

I am not comfortable with posting the amount (I did vote though), but will say that this is one thing we went into KNOWING we'd spend a pretty penny on. Our old-school Italian family has led us to believe that wedding favors are a BIG thing and the talk of the town. They HAVE to be good quality, useful, pretty and something that any Italian can use somewhere in their house lol That made it hard to find anything inexpensive. So, we did spend a lot on favors, but never minded. I'd say go with something you like and know your guests would like...in the grand-scheme of things, what is an extra few hundred or even a thousand dollars going to do? Ya know?

I definitely agree. My family always looks forward to a nice wedding favor and with what everything else costs whats a few extra dollars per person. I love what I am giving my guests and its personal do i think that the guests that know us will really appreciate it.

After switching a million times...we decided on Martini Glasses filled with Kisses.
They will come to around 1.75 a piece. We aren't having them engraved, we felt people would be more inclined to use them without our names on them. But we are wrapping them with ribbons that have our names and date.
