Out of curiosity - how much did your dress cost? by what designer?
Did you have a more expensive option that you decided to forgo? If so, how much did that cost?
If your wedding is over, do you regret getting the cheaper dress?

What did you spend on your dress?
My dress is by Paula Varsalona. I bought the sample b/c it fit perfectly. I paid $1700 for the dress (originally $2500) and then $100 for the gloves and $500 for the veil. I spent a small fortune but I paid for it all myself so no one can complain.
Oh well...you only do it once!

Mori Lee $700-
Mori makes beautiful, affordable dresses. Mine is two years old so they no longer have a pic on line. But I love it!

I actually bought my dress in NJ. The place is called Romas Bridal in Clifton. They have a huge selection and the ladies are very helpful. They don't charge for alterations and the best part is that they don't charge TAX!! My dress was $1,500 by demitrios. It's simple and their silk satin is beautiful. Can't wait to see it again!!Good luck.

I bought a Reem Acra gown for $3,800 with alterations. It's a beautiful gown and I absolutely love it. I can't wait for it to come in. I bought it at Kleinfelds in Brooklyn. It was also a gift from my parents.

Mine dress was $1500, headpiece/veil was $240ish. Alteration were capped at $150. My stepmom made a deal with the bridal shop that if I buy all of my BM dresses at the shop they would give me a better deal on the dress. Since the shop did not have the sample (I tried it on in another shop earlier that day) I got the dress for $1100. Also, my stepmom got them to lower my alteration cap to $100. In the end, we saved about $480 or so dollars. But the truth is she would have spent the extra money on the dress because I just loved it!!!

Maggie Sottero- Davina Marie ( mzrs1220)
When I put it on I just knew. The dress is so amazing I can't even put into words. I tried mine on at Adrienne's but bought at Burton's. Good luck with it and many happy wishes.

I spent around $1000, including alterations, and got a beautiful, princess like dress by Mon Cheri. Here it is:

I absolutely love that dress. It makes me feel like a Quenn.... very elegant.
I haven't ordered it yet. But I did find a boutique in Brooklyn that quoted me $1100 with alterations.
How much are you getting it for?

This is amazing!!!.
The dress is beautiful. I wasn't going to try it on..but the salesperson that was helping suggested.
As soon as I put it on I knew it was the one.

One more ?: What were your dresses made of? *NM*
My dress is made by Romona Keveza. I spent around $3600 including the matching veil. I just loved it and had my eye on it for a really long time. It is made with silk organza and lace.
I'm kinda feeling guilty for spending so much but I just loved it and nothing else compared to it. My wedding reception is outdoors so I wanted something light and airy and this fit perfect! My justification for it...yes I'll only wear it once but I will remember it forever!

I am ordering my dress tomorrow. It's listed at $3300 but the consultant said she would work with me on the price since it was a bit out of my price range. I'll try negotiating a bit but my heart is set on thie dress. It was the whole....'I feel like a beautiful bride with tears in my eyes moment'. Much more then I wanted to spend, but for the wedding it's worth it. No one thought I would even try on a really expensive dress, never mind fall in love with it:) I'm trying to keep everyone guessing:)

A great idea for your dress after the wedding
A good friend of mine had her train made into a Christening Gown when her first child was born. It was such a beautiful thought. So you see, you can get some more use out of your gown plus save money on a Christening Gown too...
I think this thread proves that it is not how much the dress costs but how it makes you feel that counts.

July4Bride - same for me
There is no picture of my dress either because it is brand new too. I got it at the Wedding Salon in Manhasset - Reem Acra had a trunk show there and I went there to show my parents a different dress (Passion) and then saw her new line of stuff and fell in love with Emotion. I can`t even go to a store and see my dress because it travels with the trunk show and isn`t even sold in any store yet. I am dying to get a picture of it to show my maid of honor and just so I can look at it all the time. I am even going to another one of her trunk shows just to look at my dress again :) Emotion has a embroidered/beaded bodice with 3/4 length sleeves that barely touch the shoulder and embroidery down the back of the zipper and a ballgown skirt (I was going to change it to A-line but Reem convinced me to keep it ballgown). What does Notorious look like? Doesn`t she have the most beautiful line of wedding gowns? Some are weird but the majority are breathtaking!

Hi Jennifer,
She does have the most beautiful dresses. I tried a dress from the Diamond Collection and liked it but when I tried this one on, I fell in love with it. It's strapless with silver embroidery and rhinestones in the flower embroidery. It has a ball gown skirt. I love my dress. Please let me know where and when the trunk show is, maybe I can go and take a pic of it.

July4Bride - trunk shows
There are 2 trunk shows coming up soon. Nov.2-4 is at Kleinfelds and Nov. 9-11 is at The Wedding Salon in Manhasset. P.S. the embroidery on my gown sounds just like yours - silver with rhinestones in the flowers - gorgeous! When I go to the trunk show I'll take a peak at yours too! Have fun!

I bought a Reem Acra from Kleinfels too! What does yours look like, I wonder if it is the same dress. Is it strapless?

Mine is Emotion and it is one of her new 3/4 length sleeve dresses - i am in love with it! I think july4bride said her dress is strapless. A friend of mine, who also participates on this board, also bought a Reem Acra strapless dress called Princess and it is absolutely gorgeous!.
