What did you spend on your dress?

Out of curiosity - how much did your dress cost? by what designer? Did you have a more expensive option that you decided to forgo? If so, how much did that cost? If your wedding is over, do you regret getting the cheaper dress?

What did you spend on your dress?

My dress is by Mon Cheri. It was $925, before alterations. I tried on many dresses that were between $1800-$2800, what I was planning on spending, and did not care for them that much, but I was getting ready to settle for one of them when I tried on my dress and fell absolutely in love with it. The fact that it happened to cost less than I was planning on spending was a pleasant surprise.

What did you spend on your dress?

I fell in love with a dress at David's. It only cost about $600. I loved it and don't regret it at all. I was prepared to spend a couple thousand! I found no connection between price and quality, only price and name. It did not fall apart or anything.

No regrets!

The dress I finally chose was less than $700 and I have no regrets. My dress was a copy of a Scassi dress which would have cost me $1200. No one knew the difference and everyone thinks I spent a lot of money. Some even thought it was a Vera Wang gown! Of course I never told anyone the truth :0)

I just ordered mine

and spent about the same as Annie - it`s from Mon Cheri, and it was $925 or so, before alterations. I was expecting to pay more, but I was very happy to find this one for less! I was really trying not to spend more than $1500 for the dress (w/o alterations).

What did you spend on your dress?

Mine was $525. I have no regrets about not getting a designer dress at all. I can't see spending a fortune on a dress anyway. No one will know who made it unless you tell them and after the 'big day' it's going to sit in a box in your attic or basement.

st. patrick....paloma blanca

I paid 850 before alterations...it was the dress I clipped out from the magazine and was so happy it was affordable.. I tried not to try on dresses more than 1000 so I didn't have to agonize whether or not to get it...but I am spending a lot on my hall I wanted to cut back other places...

What did you spend on your dress?

My dress is a Wearkstatt, and I spent about $3,000 total. A lot, yes. Regrets, not one. It was amazing & people could not stop complementing me on it. It was worth every penny. Plus, the dress was something I knew I would splurge on because it was important to me that it be couture. But different people have different priorities, and I can see some people not agreeing with spending that much on a dress. oh, and fabric-wise it was silk gazar with silk satin trim.

What did you spend on your dress?

I went shopping with a budget of $1500 and ended up spending more than I wanted to, but don't regret it for one minute. Before alterations, the dress came to $2,100. It is a Diamond Bridal Collection designed by Ada Athanassiou and it is made of of silk gazar (organza). It is strapless and has a chapel length train. I love it and can't wait to wear it.

$750

The dress alone was $750. It`s a Private Label dress, and I absolutely loved it. I know it`s on the cheap end of the wedding dress spectrum, but I feel like it was such a bargain ... and no, it wasn`t on sale. That`s the regular retail price. My dress was an A-line style with a full skirt .. lots of crinoline. It has a sweetheart neckline, and long sleeves made of lace. There was very intricate beadwork done along the bodice and sleeves. On the hem of the dress, there was lace, also accented with intricate beadwork. There is also a detachable train, and that too had beautiful beadwork on it as well. The fabric was exactly what I was looking for, a matte white satin. I received many compliments on the dress .. some from guys I never would have expected would notice that dress at all! And a very close friend of mine, who would tell me the truth, was shocked at how inexpensive my dress was. I don`t have my own picture to post of my dress, and I can no longer find it on the internet, but I highly recommend checking out the Private Label collection by Private Label by G. I have absolutely no regrets. There was no way I was going to spend thousands and thousands of dollars for a dress I`ll only wear once. (Or in my case twice, since we took our outdoor shots at a later date because of wedding-day rain). http://www.privatelabelbyg.com

What did you spend on your dress?

I bought a Wearkstatt also.. It was expensive but I have no regrets..I love my dress.. My advice is if you have a budget don't look at more $$$ dresses.. I looked at couture designer dresses first and the more inexpensive dresses looked cheap esp. in the material used and embroidery work.

Diamond Bridal

I spend about $4,000 (including alterations and customization). The only problem I had was the customization was completely wrong - it changed the whole look of the dress. But the seamstress at the shop completely remade the dress to look like the original, except for the back which I ended up liking better in the end. I don't regret the $ because I felt beautiful.
