Re: What did you use to make your own menus??
We're using 5x8 unlined index cards which we turned lengthwise... Once we put a border around the card, you couldn't tell it was an index card.

Will the cardstock print through a regular printer or is it too thick?

The only issue we had with the index cards is that if you bold something, it looks alittle smudged. So we turned off the bold on the headings and it looks perfectly fine.

Re: What did you use to make your own menus??
after hunting a while I found the perfect shade of purple (the bridesmaids dresses are victorian lilac so I'm trying to stay close to it) cardstock that's regular size 8/5 x 11'. I did the format in Microsoft Word with two menus on a page landscape. All I had to do was cut in half then.
We tried some variations of paper (parchmont, copy paper, vellum, cardstock with vellum) and it just seemed like it would be a lot easier to do it on cardstock and cut in half. I'm stressed enough so it was quick and easy to do.

I found in Michael's the other day, Menu programs, plain white, with the word Menu at the top. I'm going to add some ribbon to it, but the size is right! HTH

The one right across from the Smithaven Mall. It was the first time I saw it there, that was about 2 weeks ago. Maybe it is a new item. What about checking Michae'ls online?
