Re: What did your FMIL get you for your shower?
I think my FMIL is going to host the shower. She has wanted to contribute something to the wedding and this is what she and my mom agreed that she can do. My mom is more than happy to let her handle this too!

I got our everyday glasses and didn't know what to think. Should I send a thank you after my shower as she mailed them to me already? The glasses were from FI's mom and sister, so I can send one thank you right???

I think they should get two TY's and might as well send it now. You'll have a lot to do after the shower so this will be two off your list:)

thanks - i was very fortunate. Both of our families were extremely generous and over the top!!! (and I know some people went above what they could afford - I actually felt bad)

From FMIL & Sisters-in-law..we got our comforter and entire bedding set (sheets, shams, etc.). Not to be greedy but I thought it was a bit cheap. Since there was 4 adult woman giving the gift. My mom bought all of my nice china, and serveware and 8 outfits from Victoria's secret plus numerous other things..I guess it balances out in the end.

Re: What did your FMIL get you for your shower?
It really wasn't that expensive..it was a nautica set from BB&B..maybe $400 total.. Don't get me wrong I don't want to sound ungrateful but they were not asked for a single cent for the entire weddng. My parents have paid for everything.

Hotelcalie, believe me I don't think you're being ungrateful. I was disappointed in our glasses as they were $1.50 each and FI's parents have not given us any money either for the wedding. Plus the glasses were from her and his sister.

She bought our comforter set at Fortunoffs, made the favors for my shower, and paid for it, but my bridal party planned it all.

Nothing b/c we forgot to invite her.. wasn't a big deal- she lives in Florida.. she wasn't gonna come anyway. She got us really nice crystal glasses for our e-party though.
She hasn't given us anything for our wedding but will be getting us a sheet set from Pottery Barn- yes, a sheet set- what can you do.

Re: What did your FMIL get you for your shower?
I am glad to see that other people are in the same situation that I am in woth the FI's family. My parents have been very generous, and his haven't offered us a cent. (And yes, they definately are in the financial shape to do so.) Not that we should expect them to, but we even budgetted our rehearsal dinner into factor because we know we will wind up paying for it anyway and we don't want to be stuck at the end. I feel bad admitting this, liek I am greedy or spoiled, but to even offer would have been nice...
