My MIL bought us our vaccuum and most of our crystal (all of the flutes and wine goblets).

FI's parents are both retired in Fla (FI's no youngster, you see ) so FMIL sent us a silverware set and china set that was FI's grandmother's and was never used. It was a beautiful gesture from someone who has nothing. FI had it packed and shipped to my mom and then my mom bought and signed a card from FMIL to me and wrapped it up and brought it to my shower!

We got a tv and she crocheted us a blanket. They were also very generous for our engagement, wedding gift, and they paid for RD. I can't complain...

She gave me a throw pillow for the bed set that no one got me. Oh, and she chipped in with my FSILs for a set of towels. Oh, and she signed the FSILs card, not her own. She is a lovely women but not very good at that stuff.
Oh, and no one in his family offered to pay for the RD. My brother and sister hosted it for us.

My MIL gave us a washer and dryer, our turkey plate from William and Sonoma and a place setting of our china. Plus my mom was very generous as well.

I'd like to add that my FMIL said she was paying for our e-party, and didnt, and then said she would pay for RD and now with two months to go there has been no money offered for it. She basically recinded. So my weird plate thing is a slap in the face. Also, no family member has offered us a dime. So I was hoping to get something useful at the shower, like a vacuum, or pots, or dishes, or bedding...but hey what can you do!

My MIL and SIL bought us a new digital camcorder. I was blown away by their generosity.

My shower's not til May, but I don't even know if FMIL will come...

I keep asking FH to ask her, but I think he is afraid to! It's 'such a hassle' for her to make the trip (from DC to NY)...like I'm not doing it every month!!

My FMIL practically every All-Clad pot in creation.
She was very generous.

My mother-in-law gave me the entire 12 place settings of our china! It was a very generous gift. She's really great!
