Just wondering what most people spent on their gowns including alterations and veil?

My gown is $1500. It is a little more then I wanted to spend but I love the dress.

Re: What did your gown cost?
Dress alone was $575. I think $200 will be the cost of alterations.

Re: What did your gown cost?
The dress was $1,490. My grandmother's giving me $500 towards it, otherwise I wouldn't have gone that high. She just really wants to see me be happy that day.
Alterations are capped at $150 including the $100 for the hem to hollow.
Haven't bought shoes yet but considering they're hidden most of the time I'm not planning on spending too much.
Veil and crown I haven't bought yet either, but there's a booth at Attias flea market that looks good to me.
Grand total I'm thinking $2K. But that's without hair and makeup. Of course, looking your best on your wedding day: priceless!
The dress was what I would've wanted at any price, but there are definitely deals out there!

Re: What did your gown cost?
My gown, after alterations, with 2 veils, will be probably around $3500. It was a splurge, but my mom and I think it was well worth it!

Re: What did your gown cost?
My dress was $5000, it was on sale for $4000, and then I changed the material and that bright it down to $3500. My alterations are included in the price. My veil was FREE - it's my something borrowed, but there is a tear in it, so SewDeb is going to fix it for me - hopefully it won't cost much! My headpiece was $225 and my biggest find was my shoes - only $35!!
oops, sorry. I should have put the 1100-1500 category since I haven't had alterations yet.

Re: What did your gown cost?
My dress is definitely $3,000+ but I'm borrowing my sister's headpiece and plan on getting the veil either at Barron's or on eBay!

Re: What did your gown cost?
I wasn't even looking at prices when I tried on the dresses since it was the style that counted. I knew what I wanted to spend - less than 500 - since I was only wearing it for one day anyway. I'll splurge on other things like the wedding ring and band. :)
But when I found the dress style I wanted I went to theknot.com to look for similar styles within my budget saw a dress I was even more in love. And it was available for under 350 at netbride.com!
