What do I buy for a 2 year old boy and 4 year old girl?
NOrmally DH takes care of his niece and nephew but he just can't do it this year.
They aren't allowed to watch much TV - I know that my niece likes Dora but I'm hesitant to get them toys and I don't know their clothing sizes (because I'm a super involved aunt).
Help?

2 year old boys almost always love trucks and cars and that sort of thing. Last year (when he was 2) my nephew loved Mr. Potato head and soccer, too. Just make sure everything is okay for 2 year-olds (no small parts), 'cause they still might put things in their mouth and choke.
I always buy books for kids, too, 'cause I'm a nerd and love to read.
Books or learning toys are great. I heart Discovery Channel Store for that DC Store

SIL would never talk to me again.
I'd get them clothes but I always call my mother during the panic attacks I've had in Babies R Us and the Children's Place and she's sick of hearing it from me.

Boy: Toy trucks, dump trucks, or the big block of leggo's
Girl: dora doll, kitchen set, The musical Aqua doodle (they also have elmo and other syles)

my niece is 3.5 and loves, loves dress up clothes. She also loves Dora.
This year, I got her the Leapfrog Interactive Leapster TV Learning System - comes with a Dora game.
For my nephew, we got clothes cause he has a ton of toys.
But my sis got him this Elmo tool bench thing that comes with a toolbelt and all the tools. We can't wait to get that toolbelt on him, so cute.

My neice is almost 4 and we got her a Curious George doll that you can tickle and he giggles (like Elmo). She also loves Dora and my mom got her a Dora mat that she can draw on and then wipe off.
My nephew is 2, we got him the Itsy Bitsy Spider-Man that sings and dances to the Itsy Bitsy song and the Spider-Man theme. It was cute, I know DH wanted to keep it for himself!!
I also like to get the kids books and usually do but it didn't fit into the budget this year. Some other alternatives are games, puzzles, or coloring books.

I am a big book giver......Dr. Seuss or Eric Carle would be really good for their age. My niece is 2 years old and I wanted to get her this dora play tent...but my sis beat me to it.... they have it at target.com
