what do i do?

what do i do?

So my friend is getting married right after me, and I'm her MOH. We picked a dress a month ago (I hated it) but told her that i'd be happy to buy it if she wanted it (PS - its expensive and I'm the only one in the party who lives on their own).

So we went back yesterday, supposedly to look for more dresses but i knew it was a formality. but we were looking and i started to notice that everyone was listening to everyone elses opinion and thoughts on dresses. but nobody listened to mine. it wasn't a huge deal, but i quietly mentioned it to my friend (a fellow BM). Well, she went back to the bride and i guess turned it into something else.

I walked out of the store thinking everything was fine, i bought the ugly dress with a smile on my face. but apparently, the bride was very hurt. She calls me today, saying she was 'advised' that I was angry/upset about the dress and she wanted to clear the air. It took be an hour to tell her that nothing was wrong and that as I told her a month ago, I was happy to buy the dress.

I can only imagine what she thought I felt, becuase she thought that maybe i didn't want to be in her bridal party! I don't know why our friend repeated my comment to the bride, it was a spur of the moment thought and i don't know why she'd do that anyway. it doesn't bring anything positive to the table.

i promised the bride i wouldn't say anything to our friend, but i'm really bothered by the fact that my friend (fellow BM) did this. what do i do?

I would just try to let it go. It will blow over soon enough. Good Luck!!

I definitly wouldn't confide in that friend anymore! Just drop the subject, don't say anything to her. She probably thought she was doing the right thing in telling the bride.

Definitely drop the subject. Give her a little time... I had an issue last year, I was a BM in a friend's wedding and we had her shower at a hall (that didn't cost anything) and just had finger sandwiches and soda to pay for, and it came to $150 each (there were 5 of us and we were told they were doing everything discount and 2 days before the shower we had to make out checks to her sister). A few of us were upset so we went back and emailed her sister, the MOH, and she went right to the bride. It was a nice email, just asking what things cost out of curiosity. It blew over rather quickly.

I would def. try to let it go. I hear ya with all the garbage that goes on during the whole wedding mumbo jumbo. I just realize that all the positive stuff is much better to think of than the negative. Good luck chica!

I would definitely try to let it go as well. By bringing it up again, nothing good will come out of it. I know you feel hurt by your friend (other BM), but take it as a lesson to not confide in her with anything. I am sorry she did that to you, and I am glad that you and the bride worked everything out!

I agree with what the other posters said. Just let it go, b/c she would likely go back to the bride with whatever you say to her.

She probably didnt like the dress and used you as a scape goat. I would drop it - but definately do not confide in the other BM anymore .
