My FMIL, my mother and I were talking weddnig stuff yesterday...
FMIL asked about my side of the bridal party and I told her. She said, WHY isnt D$%^& in Bridal Party???
I told her that my FH and I discussed it and that since it is only FH's brothers girlfriend and not really my friend it wouldnt be necessary.
She said, ye, but they have been dating 5 years
This is true they have been however they are always on the brink of breaking up, she is nto my favorite person, she is cheap, she is okay...but not really my friend and even Fh is not overly fond of her.
FMIL and my mom began talking about it my mom tried to help me out...but she still thought i wasnt doing the right thing and that she was going to be upset
FH and I discussed it when we got home and he said that I absolutely do not have to have brothers girlfriend...BUT the last thing i want to do is cause drama!
Should i have brothers girlfriend to avoid problems or stick my guns and not change my plans?
please give advice

I say dont have her. If they break up all the time who knows if she will even be in the picture then?
Maybe hold off and if they are still together, you can ask her sometime in the future as you still have plenty of time.
Also you mom and MIL had their weddings, this one is yours. You do what you want to as your daughter will do oneday as well LOL

Re: WHAT DO I DO?LONG
you should stick to your guns. Have only the people you want in your bridal party. what if they do end up breaking up then you would be told you have to kick her out.
good luck

no way!!!! Stick to your guns!!! If I were your FBIL's girlfriend, I wouldnt expect to be asked to be in your bridal party... It is one thing if you were excluding one of your FI's sisters, which can be ok too... but this is a girlfriend... nothing permanent yet!

Re: WHAT DO I DO?LONG
Personally, i wouldn't let anyone tell me who should be in my bridal party, if you and that person aren't friends you are not obligated to include her in your wedding just because her boyfriend is party of the wedding. It's your wedding day do what makes you comfortable and happy, your FH doesn't have a problem with it so don't stress yourself.

YOU decide who is in your bridal party! not anyone else. Especially since your FH agrees with you, I think you need to let your FMIL that it is your decision, end of story.

Re: WHAT DO I DO?LONG
You only want to have people close to you in your wedding party. 10 years from now you dont want to look at your pics and think 'who was that girl'

Re: WHAT DO I DO?LONG
Do NOT worry about causing drama. The purpose of your bridal party is to have the people who you feel are close and supportive stand up for you and help you. It is not for parading people who just happen to have a certain relationship with your family. I know it turns out that way sometimes, but you really should not be forced to have someone who you don't know well or even like stand up for you at your wedding. You can compromise on food and guests, but you shouldn't on this.

Stick you your guns. What happens if they break up between now and then?

Have who you want in your BP. Trust me, if this doesn't cause drama something else will...so you might as well choose your BP!

No WAY! The last thing you need is for FMIL dictating who will be in your BP.

no way. Don't crumble becasue of FMIL! This will set a precedent for other things in wedding planning and in life.
Besides, do you really want to look back on pics and say 'I havn't seen her since they broke up. Why was she in my wedding!?!'
I didn't ask my FH's sisters to be in the BP and I think his family was put off. We asked them to be readers and everyone was happy. I really didn't want a big bridal party, so I am not. Please stick to your guns.

Re: WHAT DO I DO?LONG
I wouldnt ask her to be part of the bridal party. You arent fond of her, plus your mom and your FH both agree that she shouldnt be a part of it. If FMIL gets upset, well then too bad for her.

Re: WHAT DO I DO?LONG
NO way! Why do people feel that they get to choose who stands next to the bride on weddin day? So frustrating!
Stick to you guns! Putting her in will only cause more issues for you and the rest of your BP down the road. It's your choice no matter who's paying for it etc. No one has the right to tell you who gets to stand next to you and take that honor on one of the most important days of your life. The girlfriend will deal.

Re: WHAT DO I DO?LONG
Do NOT ask anyone to be in your BP if you don't want them in it. I didn't ask my DH's twin brother's girlfriend to be in my BP and I don't regrt it one bit. Even though they got engaged a few months after we did, the fact of the matter is she and I are not friends. I didn't want her being a part of my BP and I wouldn't/don't want to be a part of hers.
