What do I engrave?

Hi girls, me and FH decided to engrave each other's rings. My FH does not want to know what I am going to have engraved so I come to you girls for advice

Our song is 'true companion' so I wanted to get either:

You are my 'true companion' 4/15/06

or just

'true companion' 4/15/06

Please help with ideas, suggestions.

I think it would be implied who your true companion is. Plus it might be a little much to add 'you are my' on the inside of the ring. JMO!!
