What Do I Give...

So FH and I were recently invited to a wedding. It is for FH's second or third cousin, I don't even know why we were invited... I have met them once.

FH wants to go because he feels like if we don't go to their's they won't go to ours. (As if I care ) I guess I will suck it up and go, but we don't know what to give as a gift to these people. It is a second wedding for both of them and it is not at a large hall, just a local hall.

How much $$$$ do you guys recommend giving to them? We don't want to give as much as we would normally because 1. we don't even know them.. 2. covering our plate at where the wedding will be is VERY cheap.. and 3. it is a second wedding.

I know you girls will have great advice! TIA!!

$200 as a couple is fine. Maybe less if you want, but I think $100pp is suitable.

Ummm I would say $100....usually, FH and I give $200 which would be about 100 for his plate and 100 for mine, but if the person is someone super close to either of us we will definitely up the $$$. However, the cost of your plate and FH's plate, according to you will be VERY Cheap, and it's somone you hardly even know! JMO

crashing.....Instead of money, if it is at a small placee then why not get them an actual gift. If you are going to give money then I would give no more than $150.

Wow--I always thought $200 was a good gift. I would say give them what you can afford. I think $150 would be a generous gift considering you dont know them.

If it's a very casual restaurant I say $125-$150, if its in an actual hall, I say $150-$200....
If I was in your position thought I would probably give $100 for a restaurant and $150 for a hall...You dont know them so why should you feel obligated to give a decent gift....
