I'm looking for a new job, and she's suspicious of it. Now, we've got something going on that is work related scheduled for either early on Wednesday or the late afternoon. She asked me IF I could join her. She didn't TELL me I had to join her. Here's my dilemma:
I've got a job interview Weds. at 6pm. I'm afraid that if I go in the late afternoon, I'll be late to my interview.
So....what is my reason for why I can't go in the afternoon?

6pm isn't generally an interview time so i don't think that'll make her suspicious. just tell her you have to have dinner with the fils or you parents or something. keep it simple, if it gets too complicated, then you make people suspicious. if you're really worried, add in like a 'sorry, i would but we already made plans to eat with the fils. ugh...' ::make a face::
not that you hate you in laws or something, but if you add some emotion in there it may sound more believable.
i think you'll be fine though.

I love having someone call you-that is a great idea.
Since its after hours, I dont think its any of her business and you dont have to think of an excuse. Just say you have a personal prior engagement, but thanks for inviting me.
I agree its not during the work day so just say sorry unfortunately I can't make it....
