What do I wear?!?

Okay so I'm taking my engagement photos next Tuesday. I originally had bought a white lace short sleeved dress from hollister a while back that I loved. We'll I put it on today and didn't love it so much lol. I like it but it's looking too formal.. More for a bridal shower maybe. Especially since FH is wearing a plaid shirt and jeans. So I'm back to the drawing board. I hate picking out clothes and especially hate coordinating clothes with someone else. I'll take any advice I can get.. What should I wear? Where can I find it? I'm much more of a casual person and wear sweatpants most days lol. HELP ME, IM FASHIONABLY CHALLENGED!

What about sticking casual then and just wearing blue jeans and a white top? That would look cute with his shirt.

Where will the shoot take place? It'll help you plan your outfits better. Also, I've seen couples do both a 'dressy' and casual look. FH and I were going to do it, but decided to stay the casual route (pics in album) since we did our pics at an apple orchard, and there was no private place for us to change, other than the port-potty, and thats not happening! lol It also helped that I picked out FH's clothes. lol

If you want to make the dress you bought a little less formal you can pair it with a pair of cowboy boots:


Or if you want to do a more casual look maybe a nice light blouse with jeans and some pumps:

That looks so cute! Were taking our pics at a park with a little lake. Brookwood hall in east islip. I'm gonna go shopping in the next few days and see what I find. The dress I have looks cute with a jean jacket and sandals, but I'm not sure if the jacket will make it look less summery. I'm probably way over thinking this lol. I really like the second pic... Hmm lots to think about lol

Too funny! I went through the same thing with my engagement shoot. I can not stand shopping for myself, for others I have no problem. I worked my outfit around my FH shirt. I have some pics in my albumn. I went with a lighter shirt for him and I wore a blue dress to make the blue stripes in his shirt pop. Lol If that makes any sense. I did not want us to be dressed up for our pics. We wanted it to be casual. A nice summer dress would work and truthfully I think the jean jacket will be cute. In regards of it looking less summery, no one really has to know you took the pic in the summer. You can tell them you took the pic in mid to late spring. = )

Crisis averted! I took all your advice ladies and dragged FH shopping with me (wearing the shirt he wants to wear LOL!). I went to Joyce Leslie (that place is so hit-or-miss. Everything I tried on was falling apart. Literally a strap broke off a dress), Macy's and Target and found what I needed at Target! I never find clothes there, but I found a really cute white high-waisted sun dress as well as a navy blue blouse to wear with jeans AND teal sandals that match perfectly to FH's shirt =D

I'm so proud of myself and so thankful I don't have to do anymore f#^$ing shopping :)

We ended up with a gray polo and no bottoms. Came home and ordered cute shorts for him. It's so hard for me to visualize things together, shopping online is so much easier for me so I can click between tabs instead of going in and out of stores for hours!

I got a white sundress in the juniors department (I'm just very tiny and still wear and extra small in juniors lol). I prefer shopping online too but very rarely order anything for myself because I have such issues with the fit of things. I have a very short, very slim body but I'm still too tall for petite sizes and too short for regular womens lol It's such a headache especially with pants.
